I prefer to have decent colours but not from the BL palette, which I'm sure was chosen by somebody on Ford's payroll:
Or were they just chosen in the hospital pathology lab?
All very 'post war'.Or were they just chosen in the hospital pathology lab?
Still, post Brexit I'm sure these shades will be back 'cause everything was better in the 1950s, wasn't it?
Kind of says it all really...

In fairness, plenty of high volume plants will batch-build a small selection of colours to minimise churn in the paint shop - 3 weeks of black/white/grey, then 4 days of red/blue/green, then back to the greys etc. That red car was probably in rework so snuck out during a grey batch. The demand is clearly strongest for, white, black and grey though.PomBstard said:
Amazon Green? One of the regulars at my local 928 specialist has a GTS in this colour, but instead of red leather theirs has the much more subdued magenta... Looks fantastic in the metal.
Yup, Amazon Green over Can Can red and black extended leather As far as I - and Porsche - can tell, it's a unique combo.
And you're right about Amazon Green. Here it is under direct sun:

Doesn't look like that on my Mitsubishi...
The interior colour was a bigger priority for me when I ordered the M140i. As soon as I saw the Coral leather, I had to have it, but it didn't look right to me with either Estoril Blue (the so-called "Superman" scheme) or Valencia Orange (OTT with red interior) paint colours. A lairy interior colour works far better with a subtle exterior colour to my eyes (and vice versa), so Mineral Grey it was.
I found this lurking on Ebay and pretty much had to have it for the colour scheme alone. Not exactly discrete...
Needs a fair bit of work to bring it up to scratch mechanically as I intend to get it to Germany and throw it round the ring at least once, but it does look good at least (from anything more than about 6' away).

I do like a chilli red with contrasting interior that isn't black
Lordy. Not up on Saabs - what wheels are they? They look hard as nails with the red. I once said three spokes should be sent to hell but that looks epic. Any side on pics?IMG_3908 by James Fawcett, on Flickr
