Except for the "Mondeo", "Preston" bits.
I was assuming the reported got mixed up between a Mondeo and an Aston..easily done!

As the story unfolds it seems Carl has ended up looking a bit of a tit.

And he’s not the only one.
yes
Will you elaborate for the rest of us?
Really ?
Yeah really.

Hartley looks like he's going to come out of it badly. And deservedly so it seems.

Who else? The other driver?

The paper for apparently being completely wrong in mentioning a wedding?

Someone mentioned another garage has been name dropped as being involved. Is that what's being alluded to here?

Carl Hartley posted an Instagram Story on Sunday Morning.

He was driving a dark colour Ferrari 458 spider with cream interior and contrast stitching cavillino on the headrests.

I don't recall his exact words but he was off for a game of golf and showed a set of golf clubs in the passenger seat beside him - he was driving whilst recording the video.

He has close to 79K followers on Instagram so I can't be the only one who viewed it - I don't know how/whether you can re-view these videos.
Oops...

Seems to have deleted it, too.

He hasn't deleted it. Instagram stories are time limited and show up for 24hrs only I think. Carl, along with some others that i follow often film themselves on "live" or "stories" when driving. Not sure how they get away without being prosecuted for it although i presume the self deleting part is keeping them safe in the short term. Wouldn't surprise me (if it was him that crashed) if he was filing at the time.

I was referring to certain posters who had jumped to conclusions based on very limited evidence and then turned the thread into a NP&E style bickerfest when challenged.

As for the other dealer it has been mentioned on social media that the Porsche might belong to a Sheffield based super car dealer by the name of John Holland.

Ah I see.

I don't pay attention to idiots on the internet or in real life, so the people you refer to passed me by.

I was looking at it purely from the perspective of those involved in the accident.

If you read my explanation above, it looks like you've jumped to the wrong conclusion about my comment.

Somewhat ironic considering that's what annoyed you about others in the thread, in the first place.

Based on my experience of both you must live a relatively solitary existence wink

As I near 40 years old, I've resolved to be more selective of who I spend time with in real life.

Internet idiots don't even register.

I'll reserve my judgement of Mr Hartley for the time being, but it's not looking good for him. hehe

Can't be him as:

"Rachel Woods, defending, said what happened had been very much out of character."

I wonder if those who have been accusing, openly or otherwise, young Muslim men of Asian origin of having been the guilty drivers without a shred of evidence, will ever get round to apologising for their error and making false accusations. The insinuations even conveniently ignored the fact that currently it's Ramadan, despite an excellent pun, when most, if not all, Muslims would avoid having a wedding due to fasting during the day.

I won't be holding my breath.
I put my hands up, I certainly alluded to it, but also considered the 'drunk owners running away scenario.

I wont be apologising for considering the possibility that this was young Asian Lads in rented cars as it is not an uncommon scenario.

Its certainly far more common than legitimate super car owners doing a runner from the scene after an accident.

I doubt that it was anyone other than Carl driving the Ferrari. The golf clubs give it away, and they can be seen in many of his other Instagram posts. Sure, someone could have an identical set, and an identical car to one Tom Hartley is/was selling, and a cloned number plate, and an Instagram story showing the same car/clubs/driver on the same day.

I wonder if he's stopped running yet?

To all the those jumping to conclusions about “Asians”, “Muslims”, “initbruv”, why does it matter?

How many of you were outraged at this?
https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.independent.co....

Or this?

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/...

Or any other number of killings by people who don’t fit the above stereotype?

Don't worry, your username will probably get you a stay of grace from the dunking stool in the short term.

What offences could the drivers be charged with for this?

depends.

But - leaving the scene of an accident and failing to report an accident at the very least

Thank you. So potentially a category 1 offence (if likely pissed, whoever the drivers were) within this guidance:

If the penalty for this is less than drink driving then isn't it a win?

What would they be looking at?
