Two Knobs - Ferrari vs Porsche

how can anyone genuinely make £30m by the time they are 30 yrs by selling cars? totally impossible in the real world.
It's not as if he started from scratch on the day he popped out of his mum, with £0 in his pocket. That wealth is a chunk of the business Daddy built up, allegedly starting from auctions at the age of 12 in the early 70s. Whether you believe that particular foundation myth or not, it's not hard to see how the empire's built up. Buy low and sell high, be lucky with timing your stock in a rising market - it's not as if they're piling Fiestas high...
There’s a young lad on social media who says this accident has influenced the insurers who were considering insuring him on a Mclaren 570 from his Porsche to come back and say No.
So this got me thinking, does all this car scene on social media increase premiums especially amongst young drivers.

I think that that’s a leap of the imagination.
Unless his surname is Hartley or Holland of course.

As an aside, WTF has happened to this place? There used to be some really good banter around here. Now it's like some of you guys could start an argument in a mirror. Jeez, I hope that the more argumentative of you aren't like this in real life, or I imagine you're one disagreement away from a heart attack. Chill :smoking:
I could go on, but I'd much rather this thread didn't go the way of many around here and stayed on topic.
Does anyone have a link to any of the local FB gossip on this?
And 200mphclub and 2many2cv's, are you guys both local?

He hasn't. According to the Sunday Times rich list, he owns 50% of the £46m family business, which presumably the £46m is mostly assets held.
It goes on to say that in 2016, the company profit was £2.3m on sales of £27.9m. Not exactly massive numbers.
No they are not massive, let me check mine er actually let's not. It goes on to say that in 2016, the company profit was £2.3m on sales of £27.9m. Not exactly massive numbers.
Seen as how mine are pathetic in comparison why don't you put up yours big boy? And show everyone a real baller.

One of the main problems in society in general these days is people thinking they are not answerable for their actions. Lying or blaming others to cover their own ass. The way I was brought up and the circles I move in, that is frowned upon.
Ok Gramps. Chill. You worked out how many Performantes for the UK yet?
Fewer than GT2 RS and yet little premium on the Lamborghini.
Most telling.

Can you not read....?
"Luxury car dealer Carl Hartley, 30, from Derbyshire, was involved in the collision, his businessman father Tom confirmed today"
But that doesn't actually clarify if he was the one in the Porsche and had handed himself in already, or the driver of the Porsche had handed himself in and was not being named.."Luxury car dealer Carl Hartley, 30, from Derbyshire, was involved in the collision, his businessman father Tom confirmed today"

But if it’s net, just under 10% is ok. Turnover is lower than I would have expected. Is that for the whole group? Does it cover their property investments?

Is that net profit or gross profit? Very different things. To what extent is the business geared? Etc etc. Just quoting number like that is meaningless.

To the Tinsley r'a'b? No, but I've been spending far too much time on top of Wincobank recently - not any more, though.200Plus Club said:
