Sadly Lotus appears to be a shadow of its former. They really are stuck between a rock and a hard place - They can't produce the volume (think, if they sold 10x the current production they would need more staff, factory etc) and the other extreme is to carry on making a low number at a much higher price, but to do that is a huge leap in quality (and perceived quality/value). JMG pushed both volumes and price up (probably as much as possible), but is it a case of flogging a dead horse?
The successful period for Lotus was when they could produce a competitive supercar at a lower price than the competition, with 'free' advertising on the film screen.
