I like the idea on paper; engine used, fuchs wheels and all the little details.

...but it looks huge and a out of proportion in parts. 21" wheels on a 'sports car' eek

Is it just me or are the wheels comically large? I don't really get this current obsession all manufacturers seem to have with stuffing any given arch with the biggest alloys possible.

I'd like to have seen a nice set of white-walls on a retro inspired concept like this...

In line with its predecessors, the 911 Speedster Concept features a lightweight tonneau cover instead of a convertible top, from beneath which the sat-nav, air-con and radio have all been removed, while the seats are full bucket carbon items.

Has the article changed since you read it?
A tonneau cover means no roof, ie you fit it when you leave the car, you cannot fit it say like the sun cap on a 987.2 Spyder to keep you dry.

997 speedster had a roof as did the 964 Speedster so very unlike its predecessors !

The 991 has a tonneau cover.

Unimaginatively generic. How very Porsche.

From the side profile it looks like a Targa that's had a roof chop at the back end and they haven't done the windscreen.
Odd. Very odd.
And the front bumper treatment looks like a less well done Magnus Walker alteration.

I assumed it was along the lines of the Spyder roof. Have you seen any photos of the car with it in place?

OK maybe I’m missing something but I think that is one of the most stunning cars I’ve ever seen -only thing I don’t like is the two tone paint - make it more tonal or single colour and it’s perfect - really pleased I’m on my own with this as it will make it easier to buy - NOT !

Perfect garage - 991.2 GT3 manual and this smile

Lovely.

Doesn't need a roof as no rain in the climate controlled garages where these will be stored for investment purposes.

I don't crave it. I'm relieved actually. This is one the speculators can gladly have.

I see this and just think that my most perfect Porsche would be this Gt3.2 drivetrain squeezed in a Boxter Spyder!

Hmmmm... just going to ponder that one for a while...

It's very likely the next Boxster Spyder will be just that.

I don’t get most of the comments....

I think it’s beautiful and they’ve done an amazing job making the 991.2 genuinely different with very cool touches. The leather door pulls, the side mirrors, headlights, centre fuel cap - love it.

It’s also a concept car - if they are making them, I’m guessing they will look toned down.
+1. It’s an N/A, manual 911 GT product, and the first open top GT 911. Surely this is the best thing ever)

Gotta love Porsche's attention to detail. Even the odometer reads 1948 km:

I think this car is stunning and growing on me more by the minute. THAT engine with a titanium exhaust (likely Akrapovič) in a convertible? woohoo

Exactly - the want here is rather excessive - GT rag top - 500 Bhp, NA , manaul , stunning attention to detail FFS ; tough crowd smile

A tonneau is definitely not a roof.

Having owned a caterham with no roof and a tonneau I can confirm the latter is no substitute for the former when caught in a thunderstorm on a stationary M25.
The truckers to my left however found it very amusing.

I quite like it and I usually have no interest in convertibles (CGT and F50 excluded) - esp if it really comes completely without a roof, I’d quite like to own on
