The height looks the same to me, I think the difference is smaller end plates on the road car.

Nice colour but if it is LM spec how come the crap wheels?

The proper LM cars, all 5 of them, have far better wheels that look like they could be at Le Mans.

This is slightly a tarts handbag in comparison.

Maybe the last owner never drove it because they just sat all day staring at its outrageous beauty !.

I wonder if anyone can estimate how much it would cost to insure and tax?.

A F1 owner said once that it was around 1% of total value per year, which actually isn't too bad. laugh

He did point out that there haven't been any recorded thefts of F1's as well. I suspect because it's SO bespoke you couldn't sell it on easily or even break it for spares.

Still the GT for me in terms of the various models blurring the lines between road and race, stunning thing...

So about £130-150k to insure and tax it? It sounds quite bad!

Yes, those were my thoughts too.

Just shows how other worldly rich the owners are. Likely they have many cars in a collection to insure and maintain. So running costs probably into the millions...

Still, great that they're being looked after for future generations

What a depressing thought!

Actually if we get to see these on track days rather than tucked away in a storage unit that's no bad thing.

Personally I think we are a long long way from a total ban of ice cars. I can however see them being banned from city's and maybe in time this being extended to eg national parks. But who can say for sure?

Sadly we have an increasingly Marxist government and the momentum is with leftist thinking on all sides whether it be media, education, local government or corporations.

Sorry for the thread deviation just fancied a morning rantsmile

Think about your own car insurance on whatever it is you drive. I reckon it'll be somewhere between 3-10% of value of the car laugh

Why would they gold-plate the titanium tools? Isnt that just adding weight unnecessarily to tools made from a very light metal?
For that reason, i'm out.
Happy to be corrected, however I believe they are titanium nitride coated, not gold plated.

Little point plating tools with such a soft metal...

It's been thoroughly debunked. The owner presumably wanted to create an impression for some reason that everything cost something like ten times the real amount...

That's not to suggest these are cheap to run or maintain - however they are, after all, rather simple things really in a modern context.

31 December 2013: £23,429.25 (including new fuel cell)

31 January 2014: £14,686.36

23 February 2017: £24,139.00 (including new clutch and major service)
Clearly you could buy a used M3 for those prices, laugh but in the context of a £10M investment. But that last service with clutch was around 0.25% of total value.

How much is a genuine part clutch fitted at a dealer on a £30K M3? £1500ish? So 4-6% or so. Let alone a major service
