Long term owners..
Discussion
The buying bit is easy but I'm not so hot on the selling. The 21 I've had since about 99/00, the 944 arrived about 10 yrs ago and the rr 7 or 8. In some ways I'd like a change but I know I wouldn't get what I want yet would spend more replacing them. Anyway they cover pretty much all bases and are pretty reliable now.

Actually it does, good guess.
I would guess it's in the format P1 B**?I only ask because I have P11 B** and P111 B** on a couple of cars, I was looking for the P1 plate as well but online showed it up registered to an Impreza P1. I thought that was entirely reasonable given the car, would have been a bit disappointing to have found it on a Daewoo Matiz or something. Everytime I see an Impreza P1 I must confess to having a sneaky peak at the reg to see if it's the "missing" plate I was after a few years ago.
In fairness though the odds of the B** being the same as mine (if that's indeed what you have) are pretty slim.
Bought my Celica in 2004, it’s been on and off the road for the last ten years but currently taxed and tested. Checking MOT history I’m slightly shocked to see I’ve only done ~20k in it over that time, although it was SORN for a lot of 2010-2018.
Bought my 06 BMW 320Cd in Dec-07 with 14,853 miles in the clock, just bought its replacement but still got it on the drive. Now on 232,000 and it still does what I need it to do, 50mpg (real) every tank, comfortable on long distance work. Only reason it’s been replaced is age/mileage is starting to take its toll with corrosion and gremlins. Would rather retire it now after a great time together than wind up drip feeding it money every month until it finally royally borks and I end up resenting it.

Longest I've owned a car is 6 years and that was my Cerbera. My Dad however had his 1979 Mustang Cobra for 10 years, and he's still got his 1993 Granada Scorpio 24v that he's had since 1994(only does about 100 miles a year in it now though).
Only seems like yesterday to me when he got his Granada, because I purchased his Xr4x4 off him when he got it...time certainly flies.
Out of interest, how much does 100 miles a year cost him?Only seems like yesterday to me when he got his Granada, because I purchased his Xr4x4 off him when he got it...time certainly flies.

My uncle owns this,
He bought it off my dad in 1966, so has had it 52 years.
My personal record is three years or so, I am not very good at keeping cars long term.
Is that a Jowett ? He bought it off my dad in 1966, so has had it 52 years.

My dad worked on the buses and I remember a chap having one then and it's stuck with me for the last 30yrs plus.

Now has two (and a Ford Pilot V8), has a Jowett Javelin Saloon and has had a couple of others but the original one is still around, was white back then and had some wider wheels on (it was the seventies) . My other uncle also has a Jupiter, but he has only had his like 30 years
I should ask him to do a bit of a PH article on it.
