Me too.

I'd had multiple Fords but also a few Vauxhalls by the 90s and the 4 cylinder Vauxhall engines were so much better (I never had a Vauxhall 6). It's just a shame I preferred RWD! rolleyes

In 1993 I had a 1991 Sierra Sapphire 2.0GLSi with the twin-cam engine, but the 1992 Cavalier SRi I bought in 1995 had a much better engine.
Yes, Vauxhalls were great cars back then. I had a Ventora. 3.3 litre straight 6, with manual gearbox and overdrive. I loved that car! I put a weber conversion on it and it just flew. I also had 3 Novas too.

Since then, Ford have really changed their game and I have had 4 Mondeos now, and I don't think that I would go back to Vauxhall. Shame.

Ventora 3.3 was one of the cars that got me into cars, my uncle had a white one and left our house with the tyres smoking, thought it was the collest thing ever aged about 8. Good looking car the Ventora, my uncles had a few, a 2.3 Magnum, 3.3 Cresta etc.

I could never afford an SR so I put the interior and recaros in my 1.2. With a 13mm you can slacken the distributor and advance the ignition so it would pop and bang. I also “upgraded” the front brakes to vented ones by chamnging the pad carrier to the wider one from a Caviler SRi and vented discs. The wheels wouldn’t go on unless I fitted a worn pad to the outside. Happy days.

Mine was white, with a black vinyl roof and I would still say that it was one of my favourite cars. I drove in it from London to Devon and got out feeling like I'd just driven a few miles.

It was quite heavy on petrol, as expected, but I didn't care. It used to fascinate me watching it idle at 500 rpm. A very good car, together with the ones that you mentioned.

I was going to mention that Redline had one going last week, and I suspect it might be the same one from the original post. Just over an hour ago I won it, so if my daughter gets home over Christmas, we're going to recreate my photo from '04 - wihout the sponge.

That's awesome, really wanted that one! Despite a huge amount of negative comments on the Facebook ads etc, they sold over 750 tickets so presumably at least broke even on it after all that.

I don't know how much their costs are, but I hope they made a few quid on it, that's what it's all about at the end of the day. It's being delivered, so they'd need a few tickets to cover that alone.

It's going to be a long week.

I ran a maroon one for a couple of years around 2003-4. A mate had taken it in as a debt payment(non car related) and I got it at a fair price. It was good fun but I moved it on due to a combination of rust and high miles. Great little thing for blasting round the country roads, haven't seen one on the road for ages.
