20 year old PHer: SUVS suck, car has to be no more than 1 metre off the ground and as close to 500kg as possible to have any credibility.
25 year old PHer: SUV not for me thanks, happy to hoon around in 3 series or equivalent, maybe 5 series if on the company's dime.
30 year old PHer: SUVs are quite convenient aren't they, getting sick of backache loading kids and stuff into normal car.
40 year old PHer: SUVs much more suited to family life aren't they, I'll get a sports car for the weekend hoon.
50 year old PHer: Don't need so much space anymore but really enjoy the convenience of the SUV, I wonder if say manufacturers produce a more stylish SUV.

Shouty middle-aged PHer: I've never seen a girl's foofoo before and so it's impossible that I would have any children, therefore SUVs are the devil's own and I will froth about it endlessly on every forum I can.
This is perhaps true for you but, fortunately, not everybody.
I don't know, maybe I'm not broken enough because I don't have a problem with loading kids into an estate. It was tiresome with a coupe, I'll grant you that, but estate? Nah.
But is strikes me that from your list SUVs do really look like a sign of dying of the light smile

I saw one today in its natural habitat (shopping centre car park) and fxxk me is it W_I_D_E. It basically filled the space from side to side, and the shopping centre in question is one of the more modern ones, with modern spaces for modern cars. Why the hell does it have to be this big?

PS it's pretty nice looking though hehe

I’m 26 and finally going to collect my Q8 sometime this coming week. I love SUVs in fact my first car was a RRS so I think I’m an SUV PH . My other car is the S5 B9 I’m loving Audi at the minute and the Q8 .

I missed the launch of this and then saw one last week on the A1(M).

It looks lovely in the flesh.

They are great aren't they? I am now 23. First car was an RS3. Then had a RS6, R8, Lambo Gallardo SL. Then I went to Porsche and did the 991GT3, 991 GT3 RS and GT4 thing.

Now I am picking up a Q8 to run alongside my Phantom, Ferrari 488 and Aston DB11. Can't wait smile

I am probably the only here who believes you.

Apart from the "I love SUVs" part. No one can love an expensive whale over a cheaper to run and better handling regular car.

Well I appreciate you believing me.

Why I love SUVS is exactly the reason big .

I have an aging father 70+ he finds it quite difficult to get in an out the low crouched S5.

On top of that I have a 7months + baby and a wife who travels to London for a weekend trip with a whole suitcase for her and one for my child .
Trust me you need a big heavy whale to take all of that around biggrin

Went and sat in one at Audi Peterborough today.

She’s mahoosive but a lovely place to sit. Tons of legroom in the back, loads of headroom and the touchscreens are very slick!

Just need a ladder to get in if you’re short wink

They've stuck a diesel V8 in one of these now which can churn out 430 bhp and 900 Nm of torque.

Too big (and expensive) for me however I'm still glad cars like this are being made.
