I know they’re divisive, but I’d be tempted to view this moody SC at under 100k miles and under 4 grand post haggle if it were a bit further oop North.

Go on, give us a clue: engine, gearbox, typical journeys, etc. :-)

Has to be an auto 540ix driving around the doors.

I think you have to register to see the images. Trust me it looks lovely!
Yes, I've logged in and looks very tidy. Certainly looks decent value at £2,250. Here are a few snaps

Funnily enough I watched that last night independently of seeing this post. I thought the iL had controls in the rear armrest for controlling the front passenger seat as well? Or was that not available in the US?

Oh yes.

If I'd have sold the Probe I wouldn't be able to resist.

That was one of the elements of the Luxury Rear Seat Package, option 446. The car in the Youtube clip didn't have that option.

If it is as decent as the pictures suggest that is a very very good price for a W140, practically 2007 prices.

If anyone is reading and thinking about a purchase I say go for it. Limited potential for bork and massive potential for driving one of the finest Mercedes ever made

Busting the budget—already, who knows where it will end up—but I know you will forgive me. It's wearing its 175,000miles very well:

Nicely shiny, and the paint is not embarrassed by tired looking lamps as is often the case.

VVV smart. Is black on black ever so slightly cold?

Need to get back into a barge or atleast a roomier car, I'm bored with my VW Up even tho I like the little thing, but I'm going to look at a BMW 530ia on sunday, he's asking frankly idiotic money which I of course won't pay, but it has a lovely spec, full M-sport, Topaz blue, and licht gelb interior with black carpets and seatbacks, dual pane glass which quite frankly is like catnip for me and it also has a petrol powered auxillary heater which comes in handy since the M5 has taken the garage for the winter.

It's supposed to have a a few minuscule specks of rust (I believe that when I see it, it's an e39 after all) sits as you can see on genuine style 65's and comes with new studded winters on the original style 66 wheels, it also has a very short MOT so I'll haggle on that...aswell. Wasn't looking for an auto but both my sister (finally) and my niece are planning to get their drivers license soon and they both want a PRND car, and I already have a spanish in the M5 so it'll do.

Looks great. But I don't think there is a hardtop.

What’s idiotic money? I paid £3350 for mine in 2013, nowadays I’d struggle to justify that for any standard E39 model that wasn’t an M5 or Alpina.

He wants 52000 SEK which is £4400, it has 136000 miles on it and was advertised for £3700 whe he bought it in 2015 at 108000 miles , appreciation is a thing on a well kept M5, not a 530ia biggrin

Did'nt think you could get the R129 with ABC suspension.
Looks fantastically clean though.
MPG claims are a bit optimistic i would guess.

This'd make a great pair with my Probe for maximum interior redness.

Hardtops are quite easy to get in the second-hard parts market these days, and black is an easy colour to match.

I'm not convinced by this though
"it can easily do over 25Mpg in town and over 35Mpg on motorways"

Even being the more economical 3-valve per cylinder motor and the super-tall fifth gear... no, not really

That R129 is lovely, not normaly a fan of Black on Black, but this works well.
A proper advert is great to see, 35mpg seems a bit unlikely?
