That R129 is lovely, not normaly a fan of Black on Black, but this works well.
A proper advert is great to see, 35mpg seems a bit unlikely?
Agreed. If it is as pristine as it looks in pictures I would go as far as saying it's sublime. These must be due to appreciate soon, they're a bit of a bargain ATM. I bet that auction shall close in to five figures, but lovely stuff!

RE the Lexus roadster (I forget the model number!) weren't they widely slated for a ride which would knock your fillings out, at odds with the type of car it should be (a GT wafter)

That looks pretty good if you ask me. Black on black works really well but only if kept in good order, speaking from experience....

Shall - grrr!

Lexus SC - I'm really tempted by them. I have thread form with these and acknowledge the Floridian-housewife vibe, but I'm gonna buy one.

Worst advert ever. Granada Scorpio cosworth, £2800.

If not rotten and leaky that seems like a 2010 price.

ETA: shall, shall, shall, shall, shall. O hi CdG! wavey

Nice idea those SCs - I can imagine driving one, roof down in the sunshine, just cruising around with a pair of shades on...

They're grim. And not in a good way.

It's got no mirrors and is missing at least one door card. I'm going to guess that it's not a good'un.

Indeed, mot out in Aug but history’s fairly clean. Be interested to see when the advert is fleshed out.

I tried to buy an estate from Jersey about 3 years ago at 4K, which is a very strange thing to admit! Seller went quiet...

Ok, here’s one with mirrors and mot, also at 2.8.

Obvs I must’ve been nuts to try and pay more...

I've heard they aren't particularly sporty, yet aren't comfortable for a GT car either!

Looks great. But I don't think there is a hardtop.
Hardtops are quite easy to get in the second-hard parts market these days, and black is an easy colour to match.

I'm not convinced by this though
"it can easily do over 25Mpg in town and over 35Mpg on motorways"

Even being the more economical 3-valve per cylinder motor and the super-tall fifth gear... no, not really

I get 22mpg out of mine. Best ever was 31 on a long but fast run down to Silverstone. No way 35.

So judgemental. Especially from a chap with form.

OK CDG. I'll give you that one! I know not why I use the words I do (or indeed why it irritates so...) but fair play. And apologies for spitting my dummy out last night, I'd had a really bad day, honestly. You can have the Lexus, the only Lexus's (or is that Lexi, as per Alan Partridge) which I admire is the LS400, and the LC500

I love some terrible cars I will admit, but my problem with the Lexus is that it manages to be so utterly uninspiring, yet still somehow rather awful.

Of course I've never driven one so my opinion doesn't count for anything.

This shows what I know. I assumed you had come to this thread to use 'shall' to wind up CDG wink

But on to more serious matters. The Lexus NO. The four door ones if you must have a luxury car with Corolla electric window switches but the SC no. Just no.

In case that wasn't clear I am not a fan.

I'll put in a good word for the SC. In the right colour combination (purple with tan please), an aftermarket exhaust (specialist in Gloucester will oblige), replacing the dinner plate wheel trims with 5-spoke ones, it's a different car. Terrible rear room sadly, so strictly 2-seat.

The P38 Range Rover is officially up for sale on the usual sites. Advert / price feedback welcome and encouraged. Believe I can't post the link here etc.

A very sad time!

Miles of thread now (for a few months at least) but I followed an LC500 through town earlier this week. Goodness me it's a terrific thing.

Pencil me in for one in 2028. Gassed.

I adore them too. I've not yet seen one in the wild, I popped in to Lexus Sheffield to have an up close look a few months ago. They 've nailed it IMO, and I suspect in 10 years you'll be able to get one for £15-20k? It shall be worth every penny.

Respect for not using 'Best Colour Combo!!!' in the ad (although it is, IMO).
