MOT runs out next month and he's in a hurry to sell it without putting a new ticket on. Hmm.
Could be a point, or maybe not? An MOT costs £30-40, if nothing needs doing. Therefore a buyer would be wise to say 'I'll have it if you put a new MOT on it'. If he accepts he knows it's got no issues, and he's £30 down to get a sale. If he refuses then you could question why and probably walk.

The appeal of these is a total mystery to me, I love a sleeper but these were never actually fast. At £4k for a 16 year old Passat with BMW 320d performance, 25mpg, and the potential for huge bills this is one something for the VAG fetishists only.

Agreed, and the colour's frigging awful too.

Be fair, a 320d doesn't come with 275bhp!

Not that the Passat floats my boat either mind....

Does make you wonder what it's doing with that power - near 8 second time to 60 is Mondeo V6 performance. Also it's not 25mpg, it's 21mpg. Like an XJR.

70k mile 4.0 litre for £2k. I like the interior colours. https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1025786

If that Jag is as good as it seems from the advert then it is incredible value. If I'd got around to selling my Boxster this summer I'd be giving them a call.
I'm amazed at Oa even looking a jags, I thought it would have been a soon for him

The manual W8 is much quicker and is supposedly more reliable than the auto. Even so they are heavy and the 4motion is a power sapper I suppose.

Why are all the fuses hanging out the boot in that Passat CC - and why would you photograph them?

Like all the best cars it doesn't make any sense. And of all people, it was made by VW in the early-00s.

Thing is if you're going to ignore logic and buy a W8 then you inevitably start to think, surely I should just go batst crazy and buy a W12 or V10 Phaeton.

Possibly, but Phaetons do scare me a bit.

I love that. Miles better than the modern boxes you also posted last night. And the colours ... fantastic. Great spot, and well worth 5k I reckon, mainly for the velour alone.
It is a lovely looking thing - it's the standard cloth though, rather than velour wink

I wonder when the metal hubcaps were put on? - I never liked the plastic ones they used on the W126, they looked cheaply made.

Not feeling much love for the W8, I can't help feeling they are expensive due to their rarity than their actual ability. When I was looking to buy one I was scared off by stories about the autos failing. Possibly my loss.

Anyway how about a W220 with questionable alloys for a quarter of the price? Assuming they haven't just found a 'lenient' MOT tester it doesn't look too bad. What could possibly go wrong?

Only 40 miles from me I would have been very tempted if it had more than a months mot

Nice that - I love the way the ESP off button is on the passenger side smile
This also features on the LS400. On the right hand side the two buttons do the heated seats. On the left, the same style buttons are mirrored and one does the traction control. Mad!
I could claim “that’s why i posted”, but I honestly hadn’t noticed that in my 2 yrs of ownership.

Possibly the most unused button in Ls400 history

I always presumed this was because they were designed with LHD market more in mind, so they save a few quid by not switching the buttons/wiring over?

I think we concluded it had had a rear end impact as well?
