Nice that - I love the way the ESP off button is on the passenger side smile
This also features on the LS400. On the right hand side the two buttons do the heated seats. On the left, the same style buttons are mirrored and one does the traction control. Mad!
I always presumed this was because they were designed with LHD market more in mind, so they save a few quid by not switching the buttons/wiring over?
I'm not sure the LS430 has an ESP off button actually. I'll have to go and look. I do keep the gearbox settings on the Pwr setting or whatever it's called, but it's a long way from a tarmac-shredder.

I hadn't noticed that. biggrin

If I was a suspicious soul I'd wonder if the owner had found a 'friendly' tester to get the pass last time round. Rear brakes and SRS problems could easily lead to the scrapyard at this price point.

My old E38 had a DSC button, I never used it but my dad (who owned the car from new and sold it to me for a song) said the dealer told him it was to switch traction control off.

As a real man, the first thing I do in any car is turn traction control off and apply the Pwr setting.

(Not really).

Life has taken a strange turn this week. I have upgraded my thread budget Boxster S for a much newer and nicer one and also in a totally out of character way bought a BMW i3 (I love the i3, hate BMWs and everything they stand for). To make room for the new arrivals the old Boxster and the S600 have to go.

In preparation for this I gave the S600 a bit of car love today then took it for a celebratory, now my new Boxster feels seriously slow and I want to keep the S600. I will compromise and make a half arsed attempt to sell......

That would be a bit more PH than my usual choice, which is to get the mirrors just right and then fart extravagantly to prove my macho domination of machine.

A couple of indulgent Sat night posts.

Some of you here, I guarantee including Woody, will like this:

Check out the Italianate, almost Ferrari-esque, lines and 70s hue.

Any reason this isn't the coolest car on the planet? Unloved tatty version of an iconic car, for the price of a 4-pot diesel. I love it.

Out of budget, obvs, but perhaps not by as much as you'd think.

ETA - it's even practical enough to convince the frau that it makes sense for the kids.

A bit of a curio - a v8 manual Cayenne, in (ish) budget. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Nice, but I rather an L322. I’d take the previous gen Cayenne e-Hybrid any day but cough.£30k.cough.

What a magnificent machine! Would probably set the record for quickest divorce though.

I thought the same thing. On balance, it'd be worth it, especially if the E-type 2+2 came as well. Although I'd miss the dog. And the children

No worries

There's no way Lexus would put an IS of that age and mileage out on the forecourt unless it was perfect or darn near so, so i was assuming that service history would be spot on.

Coincidentally my headlights had fogged over to the point of needing sorted before the winter approached. I just bought a Meguirs kit (£20?) and used my drill and they are now good as new.

Hope you get a run in the car.

I'm actually thinking about changing mine at the end of the year as I've had it for a couple of years and will hopefully be in a position to buy something a little newer. What to buy though.................. confusedspinwobble
Quick update - bit miffed when I worked out the advert description must be for the SE-L (it mentions the sunroof, upgraded stereo and Satnav but the car has none of those). Salesman pretty keen and offered to bring round to my office (as was having trouble making the time to see it in the daylight) but then didn't arrive and is now off. However, he arranged for me to see it today and I took it for a drive - felt very solid, suspension fine, shifting was ok, bodywork decent for 107k, interior top notch. Have left a message with the original salesman and when he's back will talk price.

If it means having the E I'd rather stay married! I hate the 2+2, I think it looks like someone described an original E type down the phone after one too many sherries.

Mate, step away from the bar! Are you mad? It's the SUV of its day, with extra sexiness for the 60s dad. And - and this is the clincher for me - it's the st version so it's cheaper. Half the price of the sexy ones, I can live with that.

LS400 at sensible money, would have gone for a look but have just bought a thoroughly unbarge like WRX (sorry, been on my bucket list for a looong time):

Looks like it might have some paint but the ad is well written and the car looks honest enough.

2 months MOT, do ya feel lucky?

It looks fabulous though, needs proper twin exhaust tips instead of the dodgy fat pipe it's got fitted.
