If I wasn't 1000 km away, I'd have bought this already and wouldn't be telling any of you lot about it until it was on my drive.

My word. That's too cheap surely? Someone buy it, I have nowhere to keep it.
I may be wrong, but it looks like it's had a fair bit of paint? Not one for me, but I can 100% get its charm.
The ad is very open about repairs and paint. I should know, I've read it often enough to have virtually memorised it!

I really love that car and hope someone buys it before I do something silly after a Saturday night ill-advised second bottle.
Ah OK, I only looked at the pictures. It does look an honest car, if that makes sense.

I've some secure storage available nearby whilst you negotiate with the wife, if that helps laugh

There has been discussion of a meet in the frozen north for the hardier and more rugged threadists, with an alternative in the middle-to-south (for those of us accustomed to growing grapes and figs in the garden) between Christmas and New Year.

However, and as per, nothing has actually been arranged yet. Keep watching, something will probably eventually get cobbled together.
Definitely a fig grower rather than rugged threadist biggrin

I'll keep an eye out for more, obliged.

It really doesn't help!

It's not spousal problems I have - well, I do, but not in a buying more cars way - it's purely practical considerations that deter.

If you have a place to store and leave that on a charger for a bit, I might PM you ... If I do, any chance you could ignore me ... ? smile

CDG must buy that car. I will buy it off him at a bargain price when he’s living in the doghouse and is forced to sell it!

The interior is rather nice.

Is that to Mrs CdG, having bought it and received a rollicking? smile

It's a lovely thing, you'll be forgiven eventually!

I really like it too, I'll buy it off you Oa once you buy it off CdG!

Perhaps we should all form a co-operative dealing in old Mercs/barges.

Apropos of nothing, do you have the ability to store a car for a bit ... ?

It wouldn't be ideal (shared unit) but if it was just a week or 2 it probably wouldn't be the end of the world. What are you thinking?

Of doing something really stupid, but you've just helped me re-orientate. I really need storage for a month or two, maybe more, so unless someone offers, I'm safe ... !

I like that a lot!

Has had some rust advisories on past MOT’s which haven’t been mentioned in the welding in the description, which is a bit concerning.

Assuming that the deal is CDG pays for the car and we all get a wee shot at it, I'm in.

I can park it in my garage (although 20% of it will be sticking out).

Short term is one thing but months would be difficult, unless at a commercial rate.
