Given that there’s also a classified ad for the same car at £7k, this is probably going to break top limit before hitting reserve, but much want for this (click on the full details box for lots of lovely pics) right now.

Much want too. Isn’t it going to struggle above 5 due to the mileage, even though it’s just run in. It’ll soon be over 150k.

Please can someone buy those Jags. I even like the interior on the S-type.

1993 Range Rover @3299, been a long time since I've seen one at that price. Assume ruinous?!

That's a funny one. Bodykit bumpers, but no sideskirts. Reading the MOT history it's probably lost its air suspension for coils.
Top tailgate doesn't have a handle. You can't open the lower tailgate without opening the top one first...
Rear electric window switches and stereo missing so i wonder if someone has been chasing electrica l gremlins?
Looking at the tyres and the engine bay it's probably used for off road muddy fun.
Bizarrely the MOT history doesn't mention chassis corrosion which is usually the end of these (or the start of big bills).
It's cheap but proceed with caution!

Lovely. Same interior and exterior colour as my 728i

Somewhat above budget, but it looks a lovely thing and I'd sooner have this than two S-Type Rs.

I have a very, very soft spot for Alpinas, but I'd struggle to bring myself to pay that for it considering the machines available for the same money.

It doesn't seem too bad compared to pricing elsewhere IMO. I've seen high teens asked for these although less mileage and nicer colours.

Not for me, I think the decals are a bit "hey, look at me", personally.

Agreed, keep it subtle. Now, has someone added the body coloured rubbing strips to make it look like a facelift, or did Alpina do that? (Obviously it's had the facelift head and tail lights, which everyone seems to do, but they never change the rubbing strips so they look cack, but that actually looks quite nice.)

I would love a titanium silver V8S cloud9

Lovely. The e39 Alpinas really feel special. I had a friend who had a car dealer dad and had one of these to run about in when he was still a teenage chap. Totally uninterested in cars he complained it was too big and fast!

I do wonder if the BMW range has become more homogenous in recent years - the Ms are just a faster version of the already fast regular cars, and the Alpinas just more badge and a bit of trim.

For me too on an E39. On an E34, marginal, but by the time you get back to an E28 they're fine by me. Not sure why.

Because by the time you are driving a genuine classic, you acknowledge people will look at you but not because of the performance of the car.

I was thinking that looked absurdly expensive until I saw it has only done 20k! Suspect it will sit in someone’s garage for a few more years before the buyer hopes to double their money frown

Looks splendid, but £5490? When did the boat sail?

That model of 3 series is my last favourite ever. I can find no visual redeeming features at all.

I suppose it comes under the category of “find another”.

Is is cheap or expensive? I say it’s on the money, especially when you look at some of the tat that gets bandied around the classic ads at twice the money.
