I'm having a wobble.
I seem to remember one of our merry band owning a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV?
I'm considering chopping in the E-Class and S-Class for just such a thing. Two questions if I can: what's the reliable range on battery alone, and will it accelerate to and cruise at 70mph without needing the IC engine?
Thanks in advance!
A colleague has one, I recall him saying the range on battery was circa 12-18miles only. I seem to remember one of our merry band owning a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV?

A mate of mine has one, the EV range is less than advertised in line with ALawson's information above.
With PHEV you only get 5 seats.
Disappointing interior, low grade pleather and plastics.
They seem to be among the worst things on the road for blinding headlights. FWIW Several people in work have them and complain about the small fuel tank and range a lot. With PHEV you only get 5 seats.

Not exactly barge related (although it is quite old and has 6 cylinders....) but my 986 Boxster has some battery drain issues. I tried one of the AA solar things and it appears to have made it worse.
Any recommendations for a charger / conditioner for a sensible price?
I'm assuming Ctek is the preferred option, but which model for a 2.5 litre engine?
Thanks

Like most PHEVs you will get 10-15 miles on electric only, but that's not the point of them. The drivetrain shuffles use between the ICE and the electric as is appropriate for the conditions. Without looking on my dashboard I can't remember the exact figures but I've done over half my mileage with the ICE off, even though my electric only range is 10-12 miles. This is on a Merc C-Class, but they all work very similar so don't fixate on the electric only range unless you have a charger at both ends of your usual commute.
Under thread by £5 - Saab 95 Aero Estate. 180,000 miles

Probably overshooting barge territory, passing through youngtimer and ending up somewhere close to wilful stupidity but who doesn't feel the pull of a half-decent CX?

Am I the only one who thinks that at 180k with work needing doing it would look toppy at half thread? I know Saab afficionado s are a bit nutty, but you'd really, really have to want a Saab to look past the 760 we had a few places ago, or any number of E's.Suspension work needed shortly I'd guess

I saw the car and was pretty sure it would be a post from Woody, not you! https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1062627
I can see the appeal in a sort of winsome-but-ultimately-self-harming way; a bit like those initially appealing but mildly scary women with blue hair and facial piercings. Maybe I'm over-thinking. Nice car.

No, you're not the only one that thinks that, which is why that car is £995 QuantumTokoloshi said:

The 190 has been taken in for some alignment work today, having constantly has a slight pull to the right since purchase.
The alignment was ok however the camber on the driver's side front was out.
The 20 mile dual carriageway home this evening was a revelation and I've fallen for it a little bit more now. A good wash on Saturday and up to BMW HQ on Sunday morning as a bit of a treat.
Will be there too. Hopefully spot it, and a look around. The alignment was ok however the camber on the driver's side front was out.

Whilst explaining the benefits of a barge to a colleague this became a sudden obsession for him.
A little wear on the bolster, but I do love the colour.

Had a brief look at this a few weeks or months back. Nice, various bits starting to go rusty but to be expected. (I was just passing and spotted it, wasn't looking to buy)A little wear on the bolster, but I do love the colour.

It's been a long day.
Stinky diesel and 142k on it, oh and lowly luxury, but XF in thread budget. Didn't realise they were in scope.

I’ve just got a CTEK MXS 5.0 for my 996 and so far very impressed, simply to set up and use. Approx. £62 from Amazon.Any recommendations for a charger / conditioner for a sensible price?

Just make sure your battery is in good health. Have you perhaps got an old tracker fitted causing battery drain?

Thanks, I've ordered one of them. I don't think it has a tracker, it's the first time it's drained in 18 months, so hopefully nothing painful.. Just make sure your battery is in good health. Have you perhaps got an old tracker fitted causing battery drain?

(barge to be added next year, I promise)
