Looks lovely. In the photos!
Must be a way to only allow photos taken in the last 2-3 months to be uploaded to car ads; each photo has a date created stamp. The photos of the xjr I saw must have been 5 yrs old, at least.

Well... that interior is certainly stunning...
I sense a red card has been shown.RE the E65 - how's it going?

The interior looks awful IMO.
RE the E65 - how's it going?
She is an enigma. Currently, even with the stty weather, she is running better and better! Little bit lumpy on idle from cold, and if I gun it while cold it'll misfire, but after 5 minutes have passed it drives perfectly.RE the E65 - how's it going?

The 190 has been taken in for some alignment work today, having constantly has a slight pull to the right since purchase.
The alignment was ok however the camber on the driver's side front was out.
The 20 mile dual carriageway home this evening was a revelation and I've fallen for it a little bit more now. A good wash on Saturday and up to BMW HQ on Sunday morning as a bit of a treat.
Will be there too. Hopefully spot it, and a look around. The alignment was ok however the camber on the driver's side front was out.

W201 with M119 is good.
W201 with M120 could be even better (if he ever finishes it).

Great, so it now drives better and I have to look at it Hopefully see you there.
Fraid so It's not perfect, a little hesitant on start up in the wet & cold, but she isn't brand new. Hopefully a good service will help.
I saw a silver 5 with a plate that could relate to so, I assume that was you? It looked very nice. I did consider a E39 before the 190, there are plenty presenting very good value for what they are.
Sorry we didn't cross paths.

Had a walk around it this morning, great colour and interior is in top condition. Only 190 there. Remarkable how small it is compared to the newer cars. Cannot help but think a new engine with 300 bhp or so, would be really good fun.
Thank you QT. Yes the interior is pretty good for the age, just some damage to the backs of the front seats from a wheel chair, so I gather from the for reasons owner Max, above I was surprised by 2 things; the quantity of M2's there, all in that turquoise green (grim), and the lack of E36's. My friend I attended with has an E36 M3 Evolution, there weren't even any 36 M3"s let alone Evo's. I think he is hoping scarcity will drive value

If I ever did do a conversion in this one I think I'd go for a more recent 4 pot for ease of conversion. I gather the newer sixes are lovely but my engine compartment is designed for a four. There are various 2.0-plus capacity MB engines from rotting mid-90s executive saloons available, some with superchargers. The character of the car does however lean towards low reving, torquey engines which is why I did consider the V6's MB offer.W201 with M120 could be even better (if he ever finishes it).

This W124 vid appeared in my youtube subscription feed - any guess as to what a W124 in this condition would cost in the uk?
Btw - if you like the vid check out his others, he is excellent.

This looks VFM and definitely a candidate for replacing my loyal C-Max (valued at £185 trade in according to AutoTrader) when it dies. Please die C-Max.
I understand post 2006 facelifts are much better but what are the big bills lurking on these? Or are all the bills big and served to owners on a conveyor belt?
Currently £3800.

Tailgate corrosion, paddle shift buttons on steering wheel and glow plug relay on mine a 57 plate 280E sport. Bought at 98k miles in September for £5k now at 106k and I have still not fixed any of the above. Absolutely lovely car. It lives in comfort mode.
Had gearbox oil precautionary flushed and changed immediately upon purchase ( keeps gearbox working as it should, none of this sealed for life baloney) and the local independent muppets failed to reattach the platic shielding under the car properly so had to rip it off, repair, reinforce and reattach. Seems I am doomed to repair all my own cars.
Mine goes like stink so the one above with an extra oomph fron the factory should be wonderful.
The tow bar in the piccie is not factory oem so check its been fitted correctly. I bought a factory OEM swivelling towbar from a scrappy plus its ecu brain, which talks to the cars chassis ECU , and neither the local Merc indie or the two local Merc Dealers could get it to work. Literally I had the local Merc dealer unable to charge me for half a days technicians work asking me to take the thing away.
So once again I had to fix it myself.
Tows up to 2 tonnes and I get 38 mpg out of it on the motorway when doing so. Mileage sans trailer around town is higher 20's.
Air springs at the back are great. Load tons of stuff in the back, switch on the ignition and up it comes.
Suprisingly there's quite a bit of road noise but it has got low profile Chinese ditchfinders on atm and as I have the same wheels as the one in the piccie may be worthwhile checking the tyres on this one. Once my tyres wear down, still plenty of tread left on them however, I will be replacing with some equally cheap tyres ( its a business hack to cart stuff about.... only God can judge me) so I have learnt to turn the, excellent, radio volume up to compensate.
If I can get another 100k out of this car I will be more than happy.
And then I'd get another one.
Cheers,
Tony
Well looks like my barge days are finally coming to an end. Change of job means I need something a little more economical all round. So the "fun" that comes with selling on Autotrader is about to start
So if you're in the market for a Mesa red Lexus GS300 SE-L (facelift) with the oh so barge-friendly wood steering wheel let me know!

Well she's on eBay for parts now if anyone fancies dropping a superb T16 engine into basically anything.

It was not as well attended as usual, probably due to the lack of, and late advertising of the event, willbe going to get to the Bicester event too.I quite like the 240is, seems the only subtle new compact BMW sedan available now, the rest are becoming increasingly large, with over the top aggressive styling. Considering that an E30 is now smaller than a BINI now.
E36 evo are certainly starting to climb in value, a great example of a BMW performance car, subtle styling cues, not huge extended arches, exhausts everywhere and a body kits designed by an angry steroid user.
