I've just checked...PH seems to have done that not me. My text was written after all quotes. So I don't understand why it got mixed in with the rest.
You've got an extra [/ quote] in the middle of the post if you want to fix it Croutons said:
£900 Cadillac with "slight misfire". What could possibly etc.

On a Northstar isn't that a sign of impending HGF?http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2019...
I risk being ostracised, but I quite like those Cadillacs, especially in nice colours like that. They're going to be crap, but endearing crap.
Barge meet.
I’ve setup a provisional Easter poll for the Easter Sunday/Monday at the Haynes Museum (thx CdeG), easy enough to add dates, etc. if those don’t particularly suit.

It’s already looking marginal for my attendance, as is the case with many SAP implementations, the idea of looking at a calendar to pick a cutover date & seeing whether there might be any national holidays remains an alien concept, so I may well be in the US for Easter. Yaay.
Still, y’all (practice) don’t need me there to have a succesful meet.

(I am also tempted to setup a Chesterfield one, for those of us that like gravy with our chips).
Feedback please?!

I might be slaughtered for this but an old Accord?

I know it’s below budget but hopefully I can be allowed this one as know there are some knowledgable folk in this thread. It’s not the sort of car I’m looking for but at the same time I’m thinking sell the Ka that my girlfriend is going to use as a first car and run this instead? Any major things to look for? Or give it a service and timing belt and away you go?

I loved the '23i in the E39 because it was slow enough that you had time to enjoy the comings and goings of the various harmonies in the rev range. It's a great match to the car, IMO, if you're not a racer.
Likewise the '28i, to be honest. Not much in it, in appeal, for me.
Yep...agree with that. Likewise the '28i, to be honest. Not much in it, in appeal, for me.

Fine thread fodder, was first here when over a bag, now so cheap it's mad. I think I'd go with a diet version of your last option, ie drive it and see if it's worth spending on it- probably depends on how it's been used (and serviced) and how you will use it as to what it wants. http://forum.retro-rides.org/thread/208240/1990-ho...

Note for your missus, it is an auto, so for her first car she (or you) may prefer she understands cogs.

I'm in God's sceptered isle until Easter Sunday, at which point I then return to the Continent to point fingers and laugh at the stupid Brits and their stupid Brexit, safe in the sanctity of my European driving licence. But until the point I revert to smug disdain, I'd really like to meet-up with my fellow sad barge losers, so if we could perhaps make it a day or two earlier I'd be really grateful. If you chin me off, I shall seize the Speckled one from under the nose of his mightiness Lord Derin and employ him to unleash limp and apologetic fury on the clan.

Says the LS430 owner! :PThe stately and haughty magnificence of a Lexus surely cannot be compared to the tawdry tackiness of a pimped wannabe dealer, for whom wind deflectors are an important part of keeping contamination away from the gear in the car.

Partner is learning to drive manual. Mainly because I love a manual and will always have one whilst they’re available and secondly it makes sense to learn manual and have the choice. Emergencies, rental car, choice etc. The Ka needs the sill welding so by the time I pay for that it might make sense to just pick this up and have something a bit bigger, cooler and more comfortable and should be cheap for a new driver in their 30s. I’d based insurance quotes on the Ka. I’ll do some comparison checks and find out.
