I'am guessing this is more a rival to the GT3/RS ? I wonder if we will see something similar from Audi and Lamborghini. The more track focused SV and GT variants with similar power to the the GT3/RS and 600LT.
Don't we already have the Performante?600Lt v Performante v GTR3s
720S v Pista v GT2RS
Those more supercars and slightly better supercars but not quite hypercars .... time for some stats and very well filmed video perhaps including a drone thingy

Will it still sound terrible? That motor in all McLarens is their biggest let down.
The engine is epic, may not sound like a rumbly old V8 (or a Mazda rotary ) but the McLaren V8 twin turbo engine really isn't a let-down, not by any measure.Sounds a lot better than a Porsche Turbo for example

We do. But, actually what sort of power is it? Dblue said:
Well the Performante is a lot more expensive than this and I suspect the baby Mac will be on a par performance wise. The real competitor to Pista and Performante is the LT version of the 720S and given the standard cars ridiculous performance thats going to be ridiculous
Where do you draw the line on price? The Performante has a base price around 30K more than the 600LT but the Pista has a base price of around 30K more than the Performante. By your logic the Performante and Pista would not be competitors. The Vambo said:

Come on McLaren, give us something different and maybe even at a lower price point!
What were you thinking, £4.49?E65Ross said:

What were you thinking, £4.49?Cheapest McLaren on auto trader is £82k for a 2012 12C. They may well chase more volume by going the Aston or Porsche route at some point, but hope not.
For me McLaren is the PREMIUM supercar brand. Superior design and build quality with more exclusivity.
Residuals will catch up with the exponential brand growth but needs a strong dealer network to support residuals and aftersales.
You really get bang for your buck and don't have to pay a pre mium for a prancing horse badge.
Bit like Samsung v apple

Another PH new car feature and yet another litany of nonsense form the various “there’s a typo in line two”and “I wouldn’t buy one of these even if I had eleventy billion pounds”, and “it sounds crap (but I have zero experience” etc etc PH sages.
Anyway my allocation is confirmed and I can’t wait.
If it sounds as good as my current Mac with its custom pipe i’ll be very happy.
