Yes that's the point, when is the Evo review coming that's the one I always look forward to the most....

RE: the article translation discussed above, I take it to read that the Megane is just better at speed and more able to deal with uneven surfaces whereas the Hyundai is a bit more rabid and scrabbly. That's my interpretation although I will say it's not the easiest read!

Also the comment above on Ohlins rusting is nonsense, they do suffer from slight surface corrosion but I ran my other Trophy 3 years in all weathers and in that snow and they ewere fine you just need to clean them off once a year and jet wash the arches which you should be doing anyway if you like cars! biggrin

I have now seen the same Mégane RS in burgundy/red/maroon colour twice in 2 days drive past me.

Wow. In the flesh it looks so wide, low and squat. So imposing. I'm really impressed.

Anyone else spotted one yet? Pictures and videos don't do it justice at all.

I saw one at the Nürburgring and thought it looked a bit underwhelming in the flesh personally.

I have seen a few at the Nurburgring, Spa, Hockenheim and one at Yas Marina and thought they looked great. Colour dependent but overall the best looking hot hatch to my eyes.

According to the configurator on the Renault site you can't get the RS in that colour? Or the great blue they do. It's white (matt and metallic), red, black, orange, light and dark grey (Titanium and Mercury) or Liquid Yellow.

The front end of that Megane is irretrievably ugly...

When are PH going to do a review of the Megane RS vs. Civic Type R?

I've read the magazines incl Evo which is a great read (also includes golf R). When is the PH review coming out?

FInally got some time behind the wheel. It's a great car.

Suspension is very firm, kept the car in sport mode for most of the time I had it (although turned off the sound effects as I just don't like them) LSD is great, does a superb job.

The seats are great (in standard form), I personally would spec an alcantara steering wheel as it's what I prefer.

Overall a brilliant package and a great car. Everyone (including my gran) loves the car.

Good to know your gran likes it.

Just so we're clear, did she also drive the civic on similar roads?

I popped over to have a look at the orange one at my local dealer whilst grabbing some service items for my mothers clio,
My very first impression was blimey how bloody big is it, i was quite taken by how massive it looks from the front, the pictures really don’t show this at all, it is a nice looking car but I don’t like the orange not a fan, I would have to see the new grey colour or go for that nice red,
not a fan of the heater controls on the screen
And not really a fan of any of the screens and I still don’t like 4 doors, I didn’t drive it as I just didn’t have the time, but may go for a try at some point, but I have to say currently I prefer my mk3, I still can’t get over how wide it looks in the flesh it looks huge and has really taken the shine off of it for me, maybe a drive will rectify
But I’m not convinced

Oh and please please renault stop fitting lorry Renault diamonds to cars it is not a good look
Whatsoever nothing wrong with the diamond itself just you seem to have run out of car ones

No, unfortunately she wasn’t available when I took the civic out. I think she’d have thought it a bit gaudy!
