So have they fixed the low speed low temperature crabbing ( although I understand it's a driveshaft alignment issue that needs a redesign) and do they still make you sign a disclaimer that it's a 'characteristic' and not a fault when you collect it?
'Ah yes, that's a design characteristic that they all have Sir'. Well, at least all RHD versions.

I was temped by a GLC43 until I saw the crabbing videos. It would bug me enough that Id regret buying it, so ordered a BMW instead.

Ooh, that looks nice. I would get one except for the crabbing issue. Would be a nice addition to my fantasy garage.

3.8 to 60. I remember when this was typical of super sports cars, and now its achievable with a 510hp SUV type thing. While I'm not the intended market, you do have to marvel its pace.

Love the look of these, they are so beasty and i'm not usually one to like this type of car.
I do think why not just get a saloon/estate though so it's at least fun to drive.

ugly af

proportions seem truly bizarre. All inflated and chubby, no menace or purpose. The worst of all worlds. Those looks seem like they're good for improved mortality rates for pedestrians, and that's about it.

If I were to buy a 500+bhp blunderbuss then the F-Pace SVR would be where my theoretical cash would be heading. At least it looks half decent and is practical to boot. This thing however is fugly inside and out.

Having seen the non Coupe version in the metal it's a nice looking thing. It's got a good stance, slightly widened. And I say that as someone who doesn't generally aspire to SUVs.

The competition for this car is realistically the

BMW X5M

C63s Estate,

RS6 Performance

and possibly the Panamera Sport Turismo Turbo.

Amazing that there are so many decent alternatives for "similar-ish" costs. Worse problems to have. I think the Audi still shades it for me.

+1

let us marvel at the engineering that makes light work of a large mass, high centre of gravity vehicle with a high-output V8, limited emissions and reasonable fuel economy

results that, a generation ago, would have been impossible

the photo of the cockpit -- dash, binnacle -- is magnificent

the exterior lines are, IMO, easy on the eye

a great daily this would be (and for £80,000 it sure as Hell should be!)

Man with huge 63 inch latest TV with QuantumLED2018 technology buys for the wifey and can park next to the M3 on the gravel driveway.

Result!

Has an Elise for the weekend that he never drives and the battery keeps going flat, forever thinking about selling it and not used enough.

Very nice and will no doubt appeal to the target market, which is of course not 'gammon' or PH warriors who prefer their 15 year Renaults with proper manual gear boxes

Even as an ungainly slopeback wagon, masquerading as a coupe, it's still a better design than the new BMW 8 series.

It will sell well but by god is this thing hideous. They are matching BMW in every segment, so that's why it exists.

Sadly no; certainly still does it!
