Doesn’t Jay Kayhave 50 odd Cars and constantly is rotating his stock to own as many petrol head Cars as possible. I’d wager he isn’t that far off those numbers ie lotto win
I don't see the connection. Are we all suposed to model our lifestyle on Jay Kay's once we win the Euromillions?I love the LC. I am, however, perfectly ok with those who don't, and I think it would be really odd for them to buy one just because they could, even if they didn't want one.
There's loads of stuff I wouldn't buy, even if money were no object. Not having a particular desire to own a particular car would be the main reason. Jay Kay owning lots of cars would have no influence whatsoever on my choices.
I saw one of these on the M1 a couple of years ago and paid it much admiration.
With regards to “worth” - I always say that something is worth whatever someone else is willing to pay for it in order to prevent you from having it instead of them. People will pay lots of money for things they want, and lots of people have lots of money.

Its a shame Lotus don't do this treatment on a modern car, creating something rather special from a run of the mill base car like an Insignia or Mondeo. I guess it's down to who owns what. Was Lotus owned by GM in the days of the Carlton?
Proton Satria? Probably worth about 47 pence today...I would definitely have one, given enough cash to run it properly and enough garage space. Unlike most on here, the Vauxhall badge and 1990s dash would not bother me in the slightest as I'd be more interested in the dynamics, fantastic brakes and performance than caressing the dashboard or door cards.
They were almost attainable a few years back but much of he running coasts now and parts sourceability are just a bit beyond my reach
I'd want to be able to use it as intended - bombing down to the South of France, 4 up with luggage in airconditioned luxury, trickling along at 1800rpm. I'd want a few grand spare to ensure any breakages were sorted quickly and properly.
First one I ever saw used in anger was local footballer Dalian Atkinson's car - otherworldly performance in 1991 plus a manual box
Love them

"Green, THE CAR YOU SEE TODAY AND PLAN TO BUY TOMORROW SOMEONE SAW YESTERDAY, £150,000"A great example (inc. pics) of how not to sell any car, especially one at a speculative £150K!

It’s the same tactic when your Mrs says sell he car you reluctantly put it up for sale but only at a price you’d let it go for but guess what it’s a high number which clearly would never be achieved. Wife is happy it’s up for sale and you play ignorance as to why it’s not selling / it kicks the can down the road or into the long grass

That's quite a sweeping statement. I may not want an LC but a Manta 400 would be in my lottery collection. Along with an X Pack 3.0S, X Pack RS2000, Moonstone RS500, and RS200 for starters.tim0409 said:

They must have spent a fortune on Autotrader adverts whilst trying to artificially inflate values.
Lovely cars, but nobody is going to pay that kind of money.

That car has been "on sale" for years. The first time I seen the advert it was priced at £50,000 and it's gradually risen to £150,000 without actually selling.

Maybe we grew up in an era before 'soft touch' and damped opening

The problem with a really well designed and made interior, is that once you've had one, it's not easy to go back.

I don't really buy into that, but concede that both could be a small part of the decision making process for a majority.

It's perfectly easy for me to go back and forth. I just don't care that much, as long as it works and is comfortableThe problem with a really well designed and made interior, is that once you've had one, it's not easy to go back.
Loads of negative crap on here from people that hardly know what the LC really is or possibly never really looked around one or even driven one. They are an amazing car on the road and very quick for their size, surprisingly. You have to own one or at least drive one to be able to "rubbish" it.

Same here As long as stuff works and falls to hand I spend more time looking through the windscreen - I'm more interested in the bits I can't see when I'm driving.....but everyone is different
