Drift Limits? Did that experience a while ago, the Atom was a great laugh to drive. Instructor was good too, encouraging and actually let me drive the car and feel what it was doing.
Yes, they were very generous on how much fun could be had!

I've seen one semi-rolled when it was racing in the Atom Cup and I can say, although the chassis was a write-off, the driver was fine and everything was ok. It was at Oulton Park, first bend.

I happen to have one in the garage now and can confirm that they handle incredibly well, the noise of the intake is louder than the exhaust noise (I've perforated my left ear drum from it) and I'd be very interested to see how this handle's compared to mine.
You need to get some of these and (sorry, don't mean to sound patronising here but many get it wrong) put them in correctly

Yes, I've got one in the garage too and you're dead right about the intake noise. I've never managed to get anywhere near unsettling the chassis, suspect its abilities are far higher than mine biggrin

There are rumours of heat issues in the FK8
Interesting to see what happens. It’ll not sound as nice as the blower, that’s a given wink
I must confess, I've never driven either, but I always thought the sound of the supercharged was brilliant, mad and would be utterly irritating after the first 10 minutes.

By contrast I did a 6th gear experience with multiple cars later on at Castle Combe, one of which was the Atom. Instructor was a rude and whiney bellend and kept grabbing the wheel on just about every turn, so I couldn't feel what the car was doing, then had the cheek to tell me I was steering incorrectly all the time. Was a real shame as all of the other instructors there in the others cars were really good.
Sounds exactly like a 'driving experience' I had a few years back at Thruxton in an Exige...
Was anything but fun.. Damn, still annoys me thinking of that !

I've had mine for seven years and still love the scream of the supercharger. It drowns out the victim in the passenger seat nicely smile

Erm. I mean one has correctly trained help that washes one's vehicle for him.
Vehicle? Singular? Pauper.
No, he means you have one valet per vehicle.

I drove an SC Atom 2 from Monaco to London - with some friends. The story is somewhere else on the internet.

I didn't think it needed 80more bhp.

What it did need was self-canceling indicators.

You can buy aftermarket kits that plug and play

Good luck surviving that.
Isn't that always the case for Atoms, tho? You pays your money....

but the thing that stops me buying one is : how do you clean it?

I don't think my local Afghan car wash would do a good enough job for fiver...
How can you be in a position to buy a 40k toy yet have so little gumption?
I have gumption! I'm just bad at using it... wink

I think it was joke, which I have to admit I did find quite funny
Aye, sir! Indeed it was in jest. I would never get my local Afghan car wash to do it.

I use my local Romanians instead. They give me a car fragrance hamging thingy every time I go.

I just had a look on the main Ariel website under the used section and they have a V8 Atom for sale at £225k.

Crazy to think that someone enjoyed a car like that for a few years and then is making at least £50k profit for doing so biggrin

How does one go about getting on the waiting list for one of these cars as I can't see anything mentioned on their website... I'd love to wait personally for the R version.

That's the V8, only 25 of them and most are in collections. That one IIRC is the factory car. To purchase just call the factory and leave a deposit.

I am aware of that haha, I was referring to the waiting list for the Atom 4 or the R version if they bring one out.

I wish I had £225k to spend on a V8 toy!
