The 100 looks "boring" because it's the only one of them that looks vaguely modern. The others partly look "interesting" because they look so different to modern cars, which is a testament to how well the 100 showed the way to the future.This car was absolutely groundbreaking at the time, the first among a period that saw a leap forward in car design that has not been equalled since. I remember seeing them in the 80s and it was like a spaceship among the Cortinas and Mk2 Cavaliers.
Definitely the car I most regret selling - nothing wrong with it at all (other than the ex-wife thinking we needed something smaller and more frugal, which she soon regretted), and I traded it in for a few hundred. That was the Quattro version too, with gorgeous 2.2 5-cylinder engine.
Tragic that they are now so rare, I’d love another.
