Good hot hatch for the price, imo.

I recall there being an owner of one on PH who insisted on referring to his car as "The 'Burg" - anyone else remember that?
Pretty standard for them to be called 'Burgs tbh.

Just had a skim through the detailing world posts. Do you think he would have absolutely lost his st if you looked it up & down and said, "you've missed a bit, mate."

Bit of a soft spot for these. They were fresh at the time of me passing my driving test. I remember seeing one for the first time and feeling pretty excited. I even did my first lap of the Nurburgring in a VXR!

Not sure they're worth the asking price, given that it's inflated due to the car being somewhat collectable.

BTW, they were referred to as "burgs" in the VX online community!

Yep, the only thing I remember (or care) about these was the detailing nutter. It had a profound effect on me, from that point on I knew I could never really give a st about keeping my car clean, I just couldn't be part of that.

I quite like these, I had a 986 S a while back and had a bit of a play with one of these and I couldn't keep up, the Boxster wasn't fast by any means but i didn't expect it to be so much slower than the Astra.

The detailing guy was amazing, expect to see him on crime watch at some point

Beyond incomprehensible. I wouldn't expend 1/10000th of that effort on a 250 GTO, let alone a fking Vauxhall.

Takes all sorts I suppose but that bloke could've refined cold fusion and changed the world in the same amount of time.

I hope this one has been thoroughly detailed. I couldn’t bear it if there was dirt and gunge behind the panels.
hehe I think I know what you're getting at...
I can't look at these now without thinking about that 'reject'. Still makes me chuckle.
I vaguely remember this, but does anyone have a thread link so I can fully refresh my memory. I need a laugh this morning.
Here
Holy st. I wonder where that car is now & in what condition.

What a thread. Another highlight.

"Now from the offset the wheels concerned me....I am a fan of the colour on the car being white but what concerned me was simply the aftercare of them as i clean my wheels at least 4 maybe 5 times a week and to do these took me 90 minutes from start to finish ...."

"Ok we are jumping forward in time slighly here as to be honest the wheels were starting to stress me out.....I cleaned them non stop day after day but the nature of the paint on them like a china effect actually made them impossibly to keep clean .....I was having nightmares about the colouration of them after only 100 miles so scoured the web for ideas....."

WHAT?

Scary stuff.

What what? You don't spend 7.5 hours a week cleaning your wheels?
What have you got some kinda "life" or something?

Rare cars now. Especially for a standard example! They all run about 260bhp with the Remus, so by today’s standards still a pretty potent car.

Just a shame most are badly modified and driven by dribblers.

Should you not be outside correcting the paint on your boot hinges? You're wasting your life man!

The original owner probably took his own life after the car was taken to the local £5 hand wash by whoever bought it next.

It wasn't just me who thought that too then? Every time I see someone I know talk about such things on bookface or similar it makes me massively cringe.

Don't get me wrong, I like having a clean car too, but I'm not massaging rare beeswax into my hatchback's crevices for funsies.

I think you're being harsh on the detailing guy, I mean he spotted a 0.5mm imperfection in the paint and chose NOT to reject, seems like a perfectly reasonable chap.
