That's it, I am no longer defending Cyclists!

Twice this evening I had cars fail to give way to me at roundabouts I was already ON. I got beeped at for having the bare-faced cheek to overtake a stationary queue of cars.
Last year, I was cycling along a road one quiet afternoon. Some douche in a Focus leaned on his horn and was doing hand gestures as he passed me. He did it because I was on the road. Nothing else. I wasn't doing anything wrong. I'm no longer defending BWM Mini drivers anymore. After walking my daughter to school this morning I was heading home. I was at a pedestrian crossing part of a junction. Lights turn red and just as the pedestrian crossing lights turn green some stupid young woman barrels through and runs the red. fking idiot.
I was also passed by a bloke in a lowered VW van who was driving with his arms resting on the steering wheel. He was playing with his phone on top of the wheel. I'm no longer defending VW van drivers.

I had a bit of a run-in at the bridge in the middle of nowhere with traffic lights. We cycled through on green, some utter cock-socket coming the other way saw us go through but his lights went green while we were crossing. He gets the arse and starts kicking off saying "red lights apply to cyclists too". The thick couldn't figure out that we went through on green
Is that the one on the road near where the travellers were camped up in that big layby?I've had a few issues on there too. If you come from the south west the light phase does seem short. The bridge has a few pot holes too that I try to avoid.

That's the one, it doesn't give you enough time to cross if you're cycling. The issue is the idiot could see we were there but still tried to block us off...
Yeah, it's bad there. Ideally, you need to be pedalling as you get to the lights to keep the momentum up. Starting off there is a pain. It's usually windy too.funkyrobot said:
Nah, that's a dream, this is the reality:https://www.essexlive.news/news/essex-news/live-m1...

and so on, on a daily basis. So often these delays are the result of "accidents" caused by motorists obeying the highway code.

Spot on.
TBF he should be cycling up the inside of the bus trying to turn left, but close enough.
Says the mug who goes out of his way to upset cyclists.TBF he should be cycling up the inside of the bus trying to turn left, but close enough.
The irony is strong.
TBH looking at this thread I doubt most of the cyclists are easily upset snowflakes but of course there will always be exceptions like yourself

More insults? A lot of aggression in you yonex. Don't break your keyboard in responding to my posts.

Perhaps he doesn’t have to be upset to think you are an idiot. TBH looking at this thread I doubt most of the cyclists are easily upset snowflakes but of course there will always be exceptions like yourself
I’d be inclined to be more upset that over half a dozen trees have wasted their life to provide you with the oxygen to waste.

I am not upset at all, just a little depressed that I have to share the roads with muppets like you. You don't even try and defend yourself when challenged about acting like a total dick on the roads?TBH looking at this thread I doubt most of the cyclists are easily upset snowflakes but of course there will always be exceptions like yourself
I'm hoping it's just internet bravado.

Every day I see cyclists riding 5 foot away from the kerb, outside of the cycle lines, behind them a long queue of traffic. Why?
Probably the same individuals when I think about it, but must take a special kind of c-unit to do that. Annoys hell out of me and I'm not even stuck behind them.
5 feet from the kerb? (or 5 foot [sic]?) Really? So they are more than halfway across the lane? Really?Probably the same individuals when I think about it, but must take a special kind of c-unit to do that. Annoys hell out of me and I'm not even stuck behind them.

Apparently cycle lanes are usually 1.5m which is 4.9 feet so it's only just outside that.

I see Yonex STILL fails to see the irony of his opinions about all other road users, without looking closer to home first.
Care to explain that statement? If you are going to label someone have some facts to back up your argument? The fact is, Schmed has openly bragged about trying to annoy cyclists, he is a berk of the highest order and to be honest if he actually carries on like he claims at some point karma will be catching up with him. Anyway, back to you what you said.
My opinion about 'all other road users', what opinion are you actually referring to? The one about the guy who gives cyclists a fright with his car, or something else? If the former, don't be daft. Otherwise, give me some examples...it would be strange as I personally drive, ride bikes and bicycles. The problem is some people (notice that word) have deep irrational thoughts which they cannot properly explain, they probably need some professional help to overcome these issues but instead they use the internet to self medicate.

So if only roads with cycle lanes then they are riding at the edge of the lane...no problem then if they cycle lanes are covered in debris/st/mud/glass etc (which is very common) - still ample room for cars to pass.....so.....why is there a long line of traffic behind? EVERYDAY?? Why are they drivers overtaking? Or are they the c-units?
Don't ask me.I already explained that the long queues were just evidence of poor driving!!

My predominate gripe on the road, as a cyclist, isn't the ahole type aggressive driving that we get reported here. From experience, most of the keyboard wkers here are just that. Pathetic tales of spewing fumes over cyclists and wishing to see them in a hedge are just figments of nerdish overactive/angry imaginations - few actually have the gall or immaturity to follow through with it - fortunately.
No, my biggest issue, as witness numerous times when I went out for 3 hours on Wednesday was sheer bad driving, mostly bad observation. I had 7 incidents on 95km where drivers pulled out in front of me. Cutting out from side roads in my lane, pulling out across me, or just forcing me to swerve dangerously when I had right of way. I don't suspect any was deliberate, just st driving and st observation.
The only one that then stopped was an older guy in a jag the pulled out of the entrance to Dunham Massey and caused me to swerve onto the footpath. It shocked him and his shock turned into anger and he came across to scream at me for riding too fast(!). Luckily with plenty of witnesses and a clam response he soon lost the wind from his sales.
