That's it, I am no longer defending Cyclists!

Well, it would appear that there are still the same two certainties in life.
1. Death,
2. Pistonhead's resident cyclist's alienating all other forum users (on purpose).
Id like to say that its good to know that you can rely on something. but ist actually quite tragic how one group of people can get things so wrong.
3. All vehicle drivers are s.1. Death,
2. Pistonhead's resident cyclist's alienating all other forum users (on purpose).

There we go. List is now complete.

Bit late. That was discussed at length on a dedicated thread on here.Basically, anyone sensible agreed that it was downright stupid. Even sensible cyclists.
But, there are no sensible cyclists. Are there. So that can't be true.

You miss the point, most of the people on here that you are lumping into one homogenous lump also have (a few) V8's
Indeed. It’s not the cyclist who holds you up on the road but the number of oncoming cars that hinder the passing of the cyclist. Now, if only V8 cars or above were permitted on the roads then this whole issue would simply go away. Thus proving that the real cause of congestion are wkers in 4 pots. Hol said:

Nearly. Try1. Death,

2. Pistonheads resident cyclists alienating other forum users who are very shouty about cyclists but unable to hold a civilised conversation about their opinions.
I totally agree with your view about how those forum users get things so wrong.

Will you be taking your own advice then? I think there are a few on here who would be more than happy if you did fk off.funkyrobot said:

Don't you mean where the bike could have pulled into the space but the car didn't wait for the cyclist to get to the space? It is like groundhog day in this thread
Yep, just like Groundhog Day, people making stuff up, but not prepared to actually debate what they've said...

However the only thing damaged in the incident was the cyclist's pride

That makes no sense. One group keeps saying there are morons on both sides of the fence. The other keeps saying all of the cyclists are all the same and they are all morons. Anyone reasonable would identify which group keeps getting it wrong.1. Death,
2. Pistonhead's resident cyclist's alienating all other forum users (on purpose).

And that's without even mentioning that most cyclists are actually on both sides of the fence, particularly on PH, as they are also driver whereas there seems to be fewer car only users who understand cycling, which would be OK as they don't practice it, but only if they didn't form their opinion/prejudice based on a very partial experience/perspective. There is genuine anti-cycling hatred in this country and it's mainly because of the growth of cycling which causes minor but acceptable inconvenience but also reduces the amount of cars on the road, which surely is a positive.
This particular topic does seem to be a contentious one. I’ve certainly never had any posts deleted before this thread due to causing offence, no matter how offensive (and there were quite a few). I’m surprised the cycling fraternity appear to be such hypersensitive snowflakes that they get so easily irritated by quite reasonable requests from drivers to keep left, not to hold up traffic unnecessarily, not to cycle in tandem on busy roads and to use cycle lanes when available, etc etc. It all appears to be a bit “me, me, me, my right is to use the roads”. I’m sure they’ll be another one along shortly to present the other side of the argument.
Needless to say I’m chosing my words carefully now. I’m not suggesting there’s a vested interest here (like a pro cycling agenda or anything), heaven forbid. Maybe they should just rename it pedal-heads, or the cyclists’ forum and be done with it?
