A Mondeo is smile inducing?
Yes if you enjoy laughing at people who think is a great, otherwise more yawn inducing unless you drive it like a Pratt!
In these threads you can always tell someone who has never been in a V6 Mondeo less still driven one.Yes if you enjoy laughing at people who think is a great, otherwise more yawn inducing unless you drive it like a Pratt!
For anyone who still thinks ST220s are diesels and / or 4 cylinders. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pu7kgDjJXno
If the standard exhaust is a bit subtle, put a Powerflow or Miltek on it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvHTA5bDeM0
The Mk 4 also happened before creeping bloatage turned it from a mid sized family car into a supertanker.
That Duratec V6 is a great engine, and makes a really good noise in an "old school" way; loads of induction and mechanical noise and not a lot of farting exhaust noise as has now become the fashion. If it had come from any other manufacturer we'd all be lionising it and lamenting it's loss.

But there's nothing interesting, inspiring or remotely smile inducing about a 320d? It's an appliance, the ST220 isn't.

I only had the 2.5 Duratec V6's in my ST24/Ghia X and I was a big fan of those. I actually preferred the Ford Duratec V6 to the 3.0 Straight Six that I had in my 330i. The V6 Duratec engine made a much nicer noise to my ears than the Bmw 6 cylinder in the 330i for me. I've never been in or driven the ST220...I just know I'd love it though.

Besides, aren't you 18 and doing something funny re. tax? I would get off that horse.

And this is why everyone’s views are different on cars, which is great.
Would rather an ST220 estate than an ST170 estate though...
At a guess he's assuming a 220 is diesel.Would rather an ST220 estate than an ST170 estate though...

For a while around 10 years ago, my team had an X-Type with the short-stroke 2.1 Duratec V6 as a pool car. The V6 Duratec engine made a much nicer noise to my ears than the Bmw 6 cylinder in the 330i for me. I've never been in or driven the ST220...I just know I'd love it though.
Fast, it was not, but I loved driving it. The fact it was lower powered meant that you thrashed it everywhere, and it sounded utterly glorious while you did so. A proper old-school smooth bassy note at low revs, building to a magnificent howling crescendo towards the redline. I drove everywhere with the windows down and the stereo off.
I wish my B9 S4 sounded half as good.

I wouldn't go there if I were you. You seem to jump on every single Ford thread and think they are somehow amazing.

Speaking of people jumping on every Ford thread, are you still standing by your 'Focus RS for £17k' story?Besides, aren't you 18 and doing something funny re. tax? I would get off that horse.

I think they rot, I think the interiors are jokes, and I think the vast majority of them are vastly overpriced. Not to mention, I maybe post 3-4 times a month on here. Try again or better yet, show me "every single Ford thread" that I "seem to jump on" please. Can't wait to see this
No issue other that to point out the obvious nonsense highlighted above. You average 126 posts per month rather than the "3 or 4" you claim.
