There’s a mention of only two seatbelts in the rear. I also took that to mean the Honda is a four-seater?
Correct, all type R's i believe have been 4 seaters? There's no middle belt in the rear (although i guess you could most likely retro fit a belt in there - i expect the shell has the mount holes)I've had mine since January, it is utterly brilliant to drive, I'd challenge anyone who says otherwise.
Is it perfect, no, it does struggle to get the power down although most owners I have spoken to disagree, tyre wear isn't great although I do tend to drive the wheels off it all the time. I'm fortunate to live near some amazing roads. It would be nice to have R+ without the stiffer suspension, you can not mix and match modes, the sat navy is tosh and the back end is no oil painting. It lacks a bit of noise theatre and they should have a fifth seat belt. Finally a few owners have had gearbox issues but these seem to be early cars.
It is fast, very fast, switch all the TC off, select R+ and you get typical old school hot hatch, the car moves in a very confidence inspiring way. I generally use Sport on the road it it is quicker. Choose an apex it hits it, the steering is bang on and oh my that gearbox, that reminds you of Type R's of old, did I mention that the boot swallows a decent amount of luggage and comfortably seats my family. Tuners are getting 400+ bhp now if that's your thing.
It's not the best car I've owned but is up there and given I spent time in M2, Ford RS (owned for a short while, that wasn't great), Golf R and I chose this speaks volumes.
I loved the old NSX which was an incredible car, drove three variants over the years I couldnt compare the two, would fit nicely into my garage and a good partner

really don't know why anyone would buy this over a nearly new bmw 440i for the same money.
i just don't understand people who have.
I presume there isn't much in life you understand. .? I would probably prefer the Honda - a far more focused car.i just don't understand people who have.

lol "focused". FWD is dull on the track. On the road its pointless because you can't reach its limits safely. Edited by SidewaysSi on Thursday 26th July 20:12
Its interior is cheap, it looks vile. They also sound terrible. I went and test drove one after having had an FK2 for 1 year.
It was a marginal improvement, nothing more.
In the end i went for the 440i and boy am i glad.
people must be absolutely nuts to be spending 30k on such a horrid car. I might have actually considered it more if it didn't look disgusting. Someone needs to make a bodykit that completely redoes both front and rear bumpers, and colour codes the ugly as hell black plastic grill. Might look half decent then.

Because they’re two completely different cars
I don’t understand why they just don’t buy an Ariel Atom myself.....
logical fallacy. a 440i and a type R can carry 4 adults in comfort. an Ariel atom, for starters, cannot. I don’t understand why they just don’t buy an Ariel Atom myself.....
So your analogy fails immediately. Try again.
Fair comparisons? Who’d buy a 440i over a Hummer? Idiots.
