In fact, the fact I bought an old Toyota Corolla goes completely against that. I'm sure other people .............. think I'm a boring sod who doesn't care 1 jot about cars etc etc....but I know that to not be true, and so I don't care
Thank you. You've bought a car that you think shows other people you don't care. That wasn't so hard now, was it? I know, I know, you don't care. My goodness. It’s like arguing with a teenager who would rather die than admit they’re wrong.
It’s human nature to judge people based on how they look, smell, sound and act. It is not human nature to judge people based on inanimate objects that they may or may not own. It may be in your nature, but if you think humans evolved caring what cars other people drive then you’re probably an idiot
That’s the last I will say on the subject. Nice car anyway

Absurd, isn't it. Interesting how he edited my comment a bit, too, to try to make his point. It’s human nature to judge people based on how they look, smell, sound and act. Actually it's quite true, and applies to all manner of other things, such as white goods, holidays, girlfriends etc. Like it or not we all pay heed in one way or another to our inner self. And a large part of our self concept is created as a reaction to the values of others. As to your specific question, my point is that even if you buy the only car you can afford you are still swayed by what others will think - whether you acknowledge this fact or not.
Complete nonsense. Debaser said:

But surely the C63 was called that as it was a C class with a 6.3 litre engine, so how can they still call a car with a 4.0 litre engine a C63?
It should really have been called the C62, because it was only a 6.2 litre. Although its still much better than a 4.0 litre though! Gilbertd said:

It was never 6.3 litres, it was actually 6.2 in the old NA E63. When the newer 5.5tt came out MB stuck with the 63. MB simply likes to keep the 63 tag, regardless of how accurate it is I thinkGilbertd said:

Marketing Nowhere is the nomenclature set in stone
Engine size becoming less relevant now look at f1
The days of naming car model numbers after displacement ended with what? The e36 in 1998 20 years ago?
C63 is a brand now not an indicator of displacement
See m135, e46 323, e90 325, 440i etc etc etc
I like these, seems to be very much in the spirit of prior AMG cars I.e. a fast GT car with a bit of a hooligan side to it.
These can of course be specified without matte paint and shiny rimmed wheels and can actually be made to look rather subtle which again appeals.
The infotainment system has had a major upgrade and whilst I appreciate the comments regarding the second screen it’s a fair bet that the cost of reengineering the whole dash assembly to accommodate the widescreen approach of the A and E class would have been prohibitively expensive for a mid-term facelift.
I’d suggest this is probably the best all rounder in its class. Not the best at any one thing (other perhaps than noise) but very good at everything. Would, I suspect, be a very satisfying car to own.

I agree with the Vauxhall comments. The Merc is better proportioned but the back end could be better.
Would love to drive one!
