Cars are eventually just going to be a massive grille with a roller skate on the back.
In 10 years, a large % of all the cars on the road won't need a grill; point taken though.

I think that's a very good looking car.
In my opinion someone in that market wouldn't give a jot about the different driving dynamics between a Ferrari and an Aston.Would be more down to looks and image. Some guys just will not be seen in a Ferrari as it's too flash, but this they would gladly bee seen in, as it projects a totally different image.

Lovely thing. Good luck Aston.

Well said, me too, and it's not just a GT, it's ferociously fast and handles very well.

If I wanted a thrilling, fast, loud supercar which can also do the GT role I'd take the 812.

Still al very nice looking thing though (on the outside at least).
I think you've nailed Aston's challenge there. It seems the DBS falls between the two stalls of Conti GT and 812. Luxurious, but not at the same level as the Bentley, dynamic but not as focused as the 812.

To be fair to Aston I think that's a pretty decent choice. If it was my money and I wanted a GT car, I think the looks and noise of the Aston would possibly make me opt for this over the Conti GT. I think the Ferrari is not really a GT car at all, but a ballistic front engined V12 Ferrari that wants to spend time on twisty roads and the track.

Aston vs Ferrari?

Perhaps we should ask Danny Wilde and Brett Sinclair to 'Persuade' us which one is best... showing my age frown
lol , i loved the Persuaders, one week my favorite was the Dino next the DBS.

Seems Aston has done as usual and produced the words best GT.

It does look better with a number plate and it looks immeasurably better than the pinched snout of the Vantage but it's still not quite right at the front to my eye.

Ok, hands up, £250k, one car, your money, one chance, this or a Ferrari Superfast?
"more powerful (by 75hp), lighter (by 168kg)"

also less depreciation, it's a no brainer although the dbs looks fantastic

Stunning, I'd have one just to look at it no matter how it drove, however who thought pairing that ghastly blue interior with that red paint was a good idea? It's truly awful.

I think some people miss the point of a Super GT. As others have said this is a car designed to crush continents and cruise down to Monaco in a style and elegant coolness that neither the Ferrari or Bentley could match.

The Ferrari is lovely too but perhaps a bit too flash and hardcore for the intended purpose, a super GT is not a car designed to be taken on track and the Bentley is too far the other way. I think the fact that this sits right in the middle of the two is actually a good thing plus just look at it!

Yep my £250k would definitely go to Aston.

There were 3 of these knocking around Carfest North at the weekend, including one on track. Trust me when I say they look even better in the flesh than the pics. There are some lovely little aero details to surprise and delight without taking over the look of the car like the Ferrari.

In the alternate universe where I had this much to spend I would take this over the Bentley and Ferrari, precisely because it falls between the two, but I agree with someone above that these decisions are likely to be dictated by styling and brand image far more than tenths of a second.

Looks a mess to me. Mouth too large, back end too over-styled and the interior just doesn't look that modern or special.

I'm cancelling my order. I'll stick with my ten year old Passat.

This neither excites me nor offends me. Can't say much else about it really! Other than I'd choose the Ferrari wink

It's back to Clarkson and Coogan comparing the Vanquish S to the 575 in one of the best filmed Top Gear sequences ever, all the stats say 'Ferrari' but the Aston pips for being that little bit more desirable. For me, it would be this Aston DBS as a do-it-all GT.

Am I the only one who finds I strange that Ferrari use the name 'Superfast' in English rather than 'Super veloce' where the very English Aston uses 'Superleggera in it's name'. And yes I know the history for the 'Touring' links and I know the DBS isn't very light...

At least it's got proper exhausts unlike the pathetic ones on the Vantage.

Much like the Panamera it shares its platform with.

Better effort than the DB11 but still £250k ?????

Much rather have a Ferrari 812 Superfast everyday of the week even before calculating the depreciation like a stone on the Aston.
Brave man that sinks £250k into one of these

Lol, I thought the exact same thing! In what way is the Ferrari 812 subdued?!
