Apparently there's no separate, specific road version, just an option pack to make it legal.

Not entirely true, I have one of the very small number of G40R's R for Road going. differences include the Duratec rather than Zetec engine for startes.

At the PH factory tour I asked specifically about the new ones (I know they did an R once upon a time) - they said it was an option to make whichever version you wanted to buy road-legal, rather than a specific model now.

I do love these but £26k gets you a shedload of Caterham that will hold its dollar better I think....

£17k is much more palatable....

So semi slicks and fully adjustable suspension. Always liked the look of them and are a bit different to the usual.

See that the gear box is a mx5. If it’s the mk3 ‘box then I guess a duratec may bolt up to it easily
