Cool story, Derek Bell pulled up at the Hunaudieres restaurant in one of these on the Friday morning before this year's race, if it's good enough for him...
He;s being paid to do that. not really that cool.

It's an upmarket SUV. A Transit van and a bike aren't.
The Bentley may be more upmarket, and faster, but it's a posher version of the same type of vehicle.

Another alternative would be an SQ7, at around £80K it's still £60K cheaper.
And some would argue any SUV is a posher version of a van.

And the SQ7 is still in a different segment/different target market from the Bentley.

Seen one badly parked (between Hoopers and Johnsons the cleaners), but no bad driving, that was my point really, everyone sees something like that and makes assumptions about the car, when the driver may be the most polite, considerate and self effacing individual there is.
In fairness, I often pull up there to drop cleaning off or collect gin from Wine Rack (before it shut down...) wink

Parking in Wilmslow is a piss-take!

You know how Skodas always look a bit worse than the Audi equivalent - a weird surface here, an oddly-placed crease there. Deliberately styled less nicely, to justify the price difference.

Well, this looks like it's been made to look worse than its Skoda equivalent. It's a three-way cut and shut of a Q5, Q7 a Continental GT. It looks like a Chinese rip-off of a Bentley.
Chinese rip-off Bentley is the perfect description. I saw my first one a couple of months ago and couldn’t believe how much worse it looks in the flesh than in the press releases and reviews. Truly vile looking thing.

If you've got that much money you'll either have the bolly delivered and waiting for you or have your butler follow in a Range Rover and set it up for you. Who the f**k spends all that money on a Bentley and then carries the booze around themselves? It's so chavvy and "new money" IMHO.

If I was going to spend that much on an SUV I'd get the new G63 or G400d when it becomes available. Much better looking , better off- road, and if specced correctly not tacky lacking unlike this which is incredibly ugly and pointless.

Every new Mercedes is tacky and incredibly ugly (with the AMG GT being the only exception).

In London you just see the usual suspects in these things but a couple of months ago I was in Stow on the Wold and saw Tommy Iomi in a mildly lairy blue one and found myself thinking that that was the first time I’d seen one being used as God intended and it all looking wholly appropriate.

Yes, indeed it is, but parking there causes untold agro when its busy.

over the last year there seems to be a freestyle parking ethos crept in, we are getting peoples cars dumped on our road now.

Crass , comically huge , appallingly styled and utterly pointless horror story of a car targetted at people with zero taste but lots of cash. Doubtless Bentley will sell loads of them to the usual suspects ....

You've never been to a point-to-point race meeting then....?

Looks like a Continental GT shagged a London black cab on a drunken night out. Hideous.
