Chinese rip-off Bentley is the perfect description. I saw my first one a couple of months ago and couldn’t believe how much worse it looks in the flesh than in the press releases and reviews. Truly vile looking thing.
Looks like a Continental GT shagged a London black cab on a drunken night out. Hideous. For when just the one parking space isn't enough for your ego
Own a Cayenne Turbo but still worried you don't stand out in a crowd ?
The car for when enough really isn't as good as a feast because MORE is always better, right ?
Fat car for the anorexic perma- tanned trophy wife
Bentayga ..the car designed to take the worst that South Kensington can throw at it

When I saw the Panamera pictures I thought it looked awful but they look much better in the flesh, as it were. These, however, look bloody awful on paper/on screen and a whole new level of ugly in real life. It's like they looked at an X6 and gave the brief that this SUV must be even more obnoxious, which was a tall order. But fair do's to Bentley, they pulled it off. Respect. I'll assume as it shares most of itself with the Cayenne it will drive like a boat too. A big, heavy, expensive boat.

Or did your wife leave you for a Bentayga owner?

Why so much hate for these? Or just because people can’t afford them themselves? If you want a spacious, luxury, comfy mile eater with good visability ahead, that will waft in almost silence I bet, what else are you going to buy?
A Range Rover, Rolls Royce Cullinan, BMW X5, Audi Q7, a BMW 7 series, Porsche Cayenne, MB S Class, Audi A8, Lexus LS - dozens of options reallyTheGuru said:

It wouldn't be PH if someone didn't come along and shout "jealous!" when you stated a negative opinion of a car.For me, it boils down to not liking the styling, not seeing the point of a stupidly quick soft roader, absolutely hating the looks, not liking the image, and not being registered blind.
Maybe it's just that most of PH doesn't move in the sort of circles where they could, in all seriousness, open the car boot and pull a couple of bottles of champagne and some flutes from three integrated red, leather cases. I can think of a few blokes at work who would be all over that sort of thing, but I wouldn't go for a drink with them, so I'll never get to enjoy a glass of champers out of their car boot.

'Why so much hate' ? Not really hate, just an inner compulsion to mock something so utterly absurd . The fact it is outside my budget is neither here nor there - it is the last thing I'd want to buy. It's an Emperor's clothes thing for me - am I the only one to think that , if a 2 .5 tonne, 200k behemoth, with all the style of a wardrobe, which is way too big for most of the country's roads and all of its car parks is the answer then WTF was the question ?
I used to think common sense and good taste might , y'know , stop monstrosities like this being made but obviously I was wrong . So where will idiocy stop - 8litres, 3 tonnes , 20ft long ? Bigger ?

Yes the styling points is just personal preference, I mean all the other assumptions on the person driving that they are show offs, bully’s, only buy to impress other people, look down on people etc etc sounds like people are down on their own life have to find other reasons to justify why they haven’t got one instead of they haven’t done well enough in life, I can’t afford one neither even a quarter of one but doesn’t get me upset seeing one.
I'm not sure why saying that the styling is late-90s Korean and champagne in the boot is naff comes across as getting upset.FWIW, I don't think the car someone drives has much at all to do with their attitude on the road. There are dheads driving all sorts of stuff, everything from the cheapest heap upwards. I might be a car nut but I commute on a bicycle. I've been close-passed, verbally abused, left-hooked and forced off the road by drivers of 20 year-old Peugeots, Audi Esses, Priuses, Minis, you name it, there will be one being driven by a bellend somewhere.
