As already said CS Carlsson DOES exist ,one model year only,1992, before being renamed Aero.

I worked at a dealer when these were new.

That's not a Carlsson. It's just a CS Turbo with a Carlsson badge stuck on the back of it. They didn't even make a Carlsson in that model. These were made in massively greater numbers than the Carlssons.
Yep, mate of mine had a real Carlsson back in the 90s and I remember the beefed up bodykit on it for one. Thought something didn't look right with this one!

9000 Carlsson had extra bodykit bits ,not sure the CS Carlsson did.

that dashboard -- the third photograph displayed in the article -- makes me think of hard plastics on cold mornings

just looking at it, my mind hears the elevated RPMs of the cold start; I can see my breath in the cabin
Thats made me come over all nostalgic
hehe

it will do, if you've since moved to places like Spain or Florida wink

Correct, the CS didn't have the bodykit, of the earlier 9000 Carlsson's, just the unique CS Carlsson rear 'bridge' spoiler.

CS Carlsson unique spec items were the following;

Bridge spoiler
Colour coded door mirrors
Carlsson Steering wheel
16" Carlsson 3 spoke Alloys (retained for the Aero models the following year)
Red box DI/APC
2.3T with T25 turbo
4.05:1 FD ration gearbox (if manual)
Part leather/alcantara seats

There's a good thread on UKSaabs about the restoration of this car.

Thanks for that link ,car looked very neglected when he bought it.

Spoiler was almost white on top but polished up with a bit of elbow grease.

I only read the OP of it.

Wish I’d bought one of these back in the 90s but sadly I got into Saabs when it was too late. I think a 450hp B204 Aero would have been right up my street!

Airbags became an option about 92/93.

How many other UK sold cars had airbags back then ?

I have a 305bhp B235R and I can tell you that modified fast Saabs are a lot of fun! Although, my reasonably standard B207R is also a lot of fun...

I think I just have a Saab addiction! getmecoat
