It looks as if they have missed the mark, again. It looks clunky and generic. Who signs these things off? The long nose, about the only thing that really distinguished the Z cars, has gone as well. It’s got precisely nothing and it won’t even appeal to the ladies.

I doubt it, considering they generally cater for different markets. Porsche are generally a bit more upmarket/costly, for the vast majority of Z4s are the lesser-engined models; yet they're a bit more "premium" than the Mazda. I doubt many sales would overlap to be honest. I don't think many who would consider a Z4 would see this and get a Mazda instead, they'd likely get a TT or an SLC, same for a Boxster/Cayman.

Yes, they'll be some overlap, but I doubt it's as much as you seem to think.

It's ironic that there are loads of aftermarket companies that make beautiful cars look st, but none that remodel disappointing production cars to look exactly like the concepts that excited us.
