People saying this shape wouldn't pass Euro crash regs. Why? Deformable structures, safety cells, could go in to a car that shape.

I bet though if Ford did something similar everyone would be loving it. But it's Russian isn't it? So people think you'll be poisoned or turn in to a Corbyn voter.

Jesus fking wept!

I'm pretty broad minded car-wise, I usually take interest in anything a bit left field, but this is a stretch too far for me! I mean, would be kinda interesting if it was just a one-off that somebody had built in their shed out of an old Lada or whatever. But as a concept for a an actual production car in 2018, my word! I just cannot get my head around it, and I can't understand why people are swooning at this! In fact it reminds me, in terms of design ability and quality, of that hideous thing that Will.i.am made out of a Delorean.

Not seeing a single redeeming feature here. Sorry.

Think the crash stuff also goes for the fleshbags you could potentially run into as well now, you need to offer some protection to them as well so obviously this would fail that.

This has the potential to be a real 'road weapon'...

Has a certain retro chic about it. If it has 300 bhp, a range like that, is cheap and/or reliable it could sell quite well in areas where cars stuffed full of gadgetry/complication/cost do not sell/make no sense. Does it really need to meet European safety regs (emissions shouldn't be a problem) as there are many markets where they do not apply; though they are not all wealthy enough to buy a car, 9/10ths of the world's population do live outside Europe after all!

I very much doubt it'll be "cheap" by any sensible definition of the term. If they're talking about "taking on Tesla" that means £30k+, I suspect.

Loving that. I'd have it if it's reliable and the battery is long range. Much better looking than a fridge freezer/white goods Tesla.

I'd like to know what makes an AK-47 more 'deadly' than any other make of assault rifle........ confused
More people killed by an AK-47 than by any other assault rifle... is my guess.
OP must have learnt their journalism with the BBC then......... rolleyes

That's like saying the Honda Super Cub is the most likely motorcycle to have an accident on just because they've made over 100 million of them.....
Well plus the fact it's easy and cheap to remanufacture, can be used by cretins and children and will survive years of neglect means it's found its way into every stinking hole in the earth and given the vast percentage of 3rd world countries the ability to kill each other with even more enthusiasm and vigor than when they had lee Enfields or sharpened slices of mango.

I’m no expert but as far as I understand it the reason why the ak 47 is so popular is it’s robust build and that it can be stripped and rebuild by anyone in the field with a hammer.

In today’s world those qualities are decidedly lacking in cars.

Price this properly and warranty the Powertrain properly and I will buy one for £30k as I could fix the rest of it for the rest of my days with simple tools at home

"the CV-1 will use modular battery technology"

On a point of order, aren't ALL batteries modular? About 1.5v per module.

I like the style, but with that front wheel gap, it's going to have the turning circle of a supertanker.
The lead acid batteries have handles so Ivan can pop them out at Halfordski when they fail every few months.
