The MSA license is part of the entry fee.

Touring assemblies don't require an MSA license?

Ah yes, getting myself confused between license and membership.

Planning on getting my 10 y/o son to co-drive. Are there any guides to tulip maps you can recommend to see if he is up to it ( really to see if I am up to it)

Have had a look online and it seems there are three styles of tulip map with some not showing point of origin (the dot at the end of the arrows). Is there any chance you can please send a test map out for a novice like me ( even the first 3/5 miles of the actual route would be great)
We'll be putting a video together on how to use the route book and sending this out a few days before the event, so that should help anyone with concerns. If you're staying at the hotel on the Friday night, I'm sure we can give you a run through or perhaps arrive a bit earlier on the Saturday and we'll be able to help then.

When are people arriving? Are the majority staying the night before? Does anyone know what the time trials are? I get the feeling if timed cone runs the Atom and the Caterhams have that in the bag!
I suspect quite a few will be staying the night before, there'll be a good handful of us there. The time trials will essentially be 30/40 second slalom courses and while I'm sure a few will be competitive, they are mainly there to have fun.

As others have already said, you don't need an MSA licence for this. So come along!

At the allotted depature time would be my guess for arrival time - 120 cars might be a bit of a squeeze for many people

Time trials - not a clue but my guess would be that they wouldn’t be too tight and twisty as to favour the agile smaller cars over the boats (sorry sports saloons and larger vehicles) my guess on location would probably be an ex USAF or RAF base where a runway could equal up the playing field

But like I said just my guesses - no insider knowledge but the event needs to be balaced to the vehicles involved

Dammit - teach me to not read all of the posts before guessing in public

Vehicle substitution may be required - what do I have that’s small and agile

That’ll have to do if the dice are stacked against the big green taxi

I wouldn't worry too much about the short timed sections.

In my experience navigational ability will count for much, much more over the course of the event. biggrin

From the entry list so far my money is on the Defender. wink

It'll have the best visibility, and likely to be traveling slow enough to nail all the navigation correctly. biggrin

When are people anticipating the event will finish? Just pondering staying the Saturday night or driving back 2.5 hours home. If its an evening finish might as well drive if early pm might as well have a beer and a bite and head back in the morning. What are other people doing?

We have provisionally booked to stay. But if its all done by 3.00 its seems silly to fork out when we could be home by 5.30. Equally though if alot of people are staying and there's a bit of a post event gathering it might be a nice way to finish the day. Hence the post. Still undecided.

We should be all wrapped up by around 18:00, but we'll be hanging around for a few hours for a celebratory beer and some dinner. I'll probably drive home late Saturday night as it's about two hours for me and I much prefer my own bed!
