Before you mention the dust I do have a Miele 2000W vac that once sucked a blade off an MSI 970 graphics card.

I just don't use it that much whistle

Biggest problem I've had with it was the fact it didn't come with enough SATA power plugs and most drives don't come with Molex plugs any more.

Real men do not dust their computers, if it overheats just undervolt it until you finally get around to building a new one.

Recently built this, haven't got round to moving over to it fully yet:

I've flipped the PSU over since this pic though so it draws cool air through the filter underneath.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Metro-DataVac-Pro-Electri... or just a can of compressed air (your wife may be happier if you use that outdoors...)

I last upgraded it a couple of years ago. It's an Asus Rampage V Extreme, with an i7 5820K, 32GB of DDR4, Samsung 500GB 960 Evo as the boot drive and 1080 GTX. It's currently running at 4.2 GHz (just because it can). Watercooling is mainly EK with some Aquacomputer bits.

The case is a massive Silverstone TJ-07 that I bought about ten years ago. It's on it's third or fourth system.

pottery art made by one of my kids while at nursery a few years ago. Looks like a Zombie's finger, but I think it was supposed to be a caterpillar.

I had one of those SLI blocks back when I had a couple of 580s. I messed up the fitting, was in a rush, turned it on and it leaked, destroying both 580s. paperbag I bought a dual chip 590 to replace it. I still have it, but it's sitting in a drawer. What use could anyone have for a watercooled 590 GTX these days?

Built mine in 2012 but still going good. AMD FX-6300 6 core, GTX 560ti, 12GB of system memory on a Gigabyte board with a Samsung 830 SSD and a 1TB storage drive. All in a Cooler Master Silencio 650 case. Got two BenQ 24" displays on one of those desk mounted arms too.

Real men carry on overcooking it until the dust burns off and use the top of the tower as a grill.. wink

My computer is really crap to look at but it keeps the wife from prying too much. This way I can keep in upgrading regularly and it still looks the same as it has for the last 10 years!

I've swapped to my new workstation today, i7-8700K, 64GB DDR4 RAM 2666MHz, M.2 512GB SSD, shame it's a workstation though, puts my home PC to shame. Maybe I could swap, all I do at work is IT work, so mainly connected to servers.

All the kit lives in a cupboard. Desktop runs Linux. Xbox runs games. smile

Edit. Can build pc and make Linux work. Can’t make thumbsnap and iPhone play.

Yep, nice job.

I remember my first PC build, it had to be a beige tower case... because that's all you could get. Second PC (first proper gaming PC) was in a black case, I'm old, but not that old.
