£4,384 off the RRP and haven't even haggled. Thats not too bad.
Always been the case with Vauxhall - unfortunately it just makes them look bad when they are then compared on RRP to other cars and also when you work out depreciation based on the RRP rather than what was actually paid.
Of course Vauxhall and others such as Renault used to get slated for discounting from the off....well until all the German brands started doing it as well lol

Aye, RRPs are pretty irrelevant, I only realised this when I went new car shopping last year. At the 18K RRP mark every single brand gave at least 2k off straight away, and some went crazy with the discounts as they were clearly not selling enough cars. And then after all the discounts every dealer has different interest rate...

Its a little unfair to use RRPs as it makes cars look a lot more expensive than they are, but then maybe they should just not start off so high anyway.

Pretty much bang on I'd say, list price already £4k lopped off - https://www.astonvauxhall.co.uk/used-cars/8932278-...

I'm sure the VXR brand will be back after a short hiatus - in the mean time VX/Opel seem to be doing something right due to actually posting a profit for the first time in god knows how long, that's a good thing for Ellesmere and Luton
still £16k with recaros vs £17k for the st (first discount site I looked at)

I think it’s a good package if i’am honest. I’ll ignore the VX badge. As it attracts unnecessary hate. It’s also a bit more focused than a Fiesta ST-Line and it’s rivals with it’s VXR Suspension and whatnot and set of nice Recaro pews that are Heated. Nice. I quite like the Interior still looks and feels modern too.

People need to ignore the RRP. This is a 15k car and probably less once the market get flooded with pre-reg examples. What’s RRP of the new Polo R-Line ? Its about 19k iirc and it’s got a lot less power..

For the McDonald’s aspect it’s all ST/ST-Line models around my area.

Can you not confuse the ST with the ST-Line please, ta.

Why is everyone obsessed with the price?

Nobody pays list for Vauxhall stuff and very few people buy cars outright anyway. These will be <£300 with free insurance or something by next year.

Didn’t realise there was issues with that engine? What problems do they have? Only engine I hear non stop complaining about is the Ford 1.0 eco boosts that were losing coolant or needing engine replacements etc.

None of this escapes the fact that it is still a poor car and other, better cars can be had for the same or less. So, basically, it's still s**t and expensive.

as people always roll out the Corsa + MacDonalds line a lot maybe its time VX ditched the Corsa name to move away from that image. It could be 400bhp with 10 wheel drive and rocket launchers but if its still got a Corsa badge on the back its doomed.

Just dont go retro with a "new" name like they did bringing back the bloody "Viva" name.

It looks & reads like a parts bin special, but not in a good way. VXR nose with the basic car at the back. It has a Phoenix Rover level of desperation written all over it.

I’d be intrigued to see what the developement team would or even pricing & marketing teams have to say about it, off the record of course.

I can get the point, a fun car to drive, plenty fast and looks a bit special. If it were really aggressively priced compared to the full gti cars it would be a really good idea. As a compliment to the vxr range. Will be tough at that price though, we don't seem to get as aggressive discounts as the ones in the uk.

As someone else has mentioned, 9 seconds seems awfully slow.

I will take 1.8 sri instead for £1000. 25 bhp less but 180kg lighter.

I like it. It’s somewhat different. I’d like to have a drive of it round a twisty set of roads.

Wouldn’t buy one though.

It probably drives well enough and I expect that 0-60 time to be conservative as it does have 150 bhp, would think its nearer 8 secs than 9, unless its very heavy or has weird gearing, that said, spend the extra and get a Fiesta ST.

All that money and you've still got to pay extra to change halogen headlights to bi-xenons.

It's ugly but then Coras's always were. It does look like a fun car in a young, sporty way. It should make a nice little hot hatch for the younger driver.
