But there have been numerous incidents where the driver of a vehicle with a butchered Chav plate has not been able to be identified following a RTA and or fatality due to misconceptions about identifying the plate.
Who would want that on their conscience?
But to chavplaters their vanity takes priority above the law.
Ah so you are behaving like a pompous tt and ridiculing your clientele in the pursuit of public service ? Who would want that on their conscience?
But to chavplaters their vanity takes priority above the law.
Good work citizen !

I'm with you - if you can afford the monthly payments, great. If you can't, don't bother. I think some snobbery comes from the fact that PHer "A" might have bought a Golf R, say, for cash. PHer "B" has leased the same car. PHer "A" then believes that "B" somehow does not deserve the car, or has not worked hard enough for it.
I don't care how somebody pays for a car (as long as it's not through ill gotten gains), as long as they enjoy it, surely that's all that matters?
I thought it was more to do with those people that buy low spec cars with stty diesel engines from high end marques mostly to impress the neighbours and thus dilute the brand's worth (audi a3, BMW 2 series are good examples of this)I don't care how somebody pays for a car (as long as it's not through ill gotten gains), as long as they enjoy it, surely that's all that matters?
What usually happens then is the full chav makeover being debadging process 116 or whatever, nicking a few M badges off a poor neighbours pride and joy, reaffixing same with soopa glue then butchering the existing plate with the odd black screw here and there to make the miscreants name out of entirely random set of letters and numbers.
Welcome to BMW Chavland.

Well your opinion is toilet paper
And your is an ahole.Everyone's got one, yours is nothing special, and no-one else particularly wants to hear it.
How is it even inaccurate?

how is that highly offensive? There is A LOT of offensive stuff in this thread, including sweeping generalisations, lots of anger about driven wheels and even some callous (and incorrect) use of the 'c word', but saying that your opinion is like a rectum is the bit that upsets you?
How is it even inaccurate?
I blame Snowflakers and the Daily Wail. :How is it even inaccurate?

The only chavplated car at the gym today.
Considerately parked this time at least.
And yes, surprise surprise, it's another BMW.
GP version though
Brilliant white bespoilered Porsche 911 and worries about the statement made by a mildly mis-spaced plate on a small grey hatchback BMW enough to take a photo ?Considerately parked this time at least.
And yes, surprise surprise, it's another BMW.
GP version though
"Its illegal", I take it you never exceed speed limits ?
I dont like mis spaced plates but it seems weird to be so bothered if you have such a nice selection of cars ?

Good riddance.
Who needs a 'bag for life' when there's an abundance of half your age minus 5s everywhere.
Chavdom has some benefits.

I don't get the whole snobbery with leasing .... surely if anyone can get themselves into a nice shiny new car by shelling out a monthly amount they can afford then fair play to them. End of subject for me! So what's wrong with it? What am I missing that makes it such a crime on here?
Because paying in installments for 2-3 years does not necessarily mean you have the income to buy a 'premium/aspirational' brand of car outright like wealthy person could easily do.As such, the demographic and income profile of the modern BMW driver has changed compared to 20 years back.
How does this connect to the stereotype of the car being driven/owned by chavs? The brand and halo models of the brand appeals to this very profile, and when a very accessible form of credit is introduced ,you have the situation we see today on the streets.
Honestly what a load of drivel, stop worrying about who is driving what car and then all this goes away!

Have you gone all shy AV, just pop the name of the gym down, there’s a good keyboard warrior.
Quite possibly soon it will be the only gym in the country to exclude Chavplaters and Chavparkers (and not just those driving offending BMWs which do form the majority of miscreants as we know) et al from membership AND guest visits...even just for coffee/water.Can't have them lowering the tone can we?
Could be seen as a public service.
Ultimately this will result in a much more refined membership base at which time membership fees will obviously rise.
Win win for all.
AV, you'll do yourself out of a lot of Audi, VW, Porsche, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mercedes and Lexus customers too then. In fact, anything remotely aspirational is a target for vanity plates, and as these are often a target audience for gym membership (along with the few of us there for health benefits), you'll end up with an empty gym.
So actually, these 'chavs' you so readily vilify are the very thing that funds your lifestyle.
By the way, who goes to visit a gym just for coffee or water?

As already discussed earlier in this most entertaining thread, the main miscreants of vehicle chavvery we are talking about here are BMWs....I have said this all along despite many wrongly claiming/bleating otherwise. So actually, these 'chavs' you so readily vilify are the very thing that funds your lifestyle.

The random selection of Chavplaters..... I think it was six vehicles the other day 3 were BMWs 1 Audi 1 Merc and one Range Rover. Fairly typical I would suggest.
It won't really affect us other than ridding us of a few Chavs and in the short term if it costs us in some lost fees it will be worth it from a public service clear up these infected streets operation point of view.
Incidentally, latterly the tide appears to be turning against Chavplaters certainly with our area perhaps with a slightly adverse affect on property prices : as there has been quite a few pulled by Plod following local 'complaints' followed closely by the original plate being reinstated.
And yes it is an offence as that fkwit BIG BAL found out to his cost a couple of years back when pulled by traffic Plod. His butchered vanity plate was in reality B16 BAL Featured on police camera action I believe.
Heres one more for the RR chavs. This time a hideous 'look at me' kissy kissy Chavplate
To be honest, gyms tend to attract "chavplaters", the one I go to is rife with really nice cars with crap plates on, quite a few badly parked, some are BMW's but its across the board.
Shouldn't be a surprise but vanity isnt in short supply in gyms, you own basically the mother ship, outlawing them at your gym would be a bit of a revenue limiting move commercially.
Driving a shouty white Porsche perhaps include a hint of vanity, not exactly one for the shy and retiring is it ? and ladies half your age minus 5, again, unless you are over 46 that would be illegal and older than that it just made me think of Peter Stringfellow

Exactly. Middle aged man, who keeps calling people ‘old’ in various 911’s covered in garish adornments. Apart from the fact he could have bought a proper supercar it does scream of self tanning and gold Rolex’s. Which garish adornments are on my cars? Do tell.As for the supercar bit I am sure you are aware of the GT2RS holding the Nurburgring lap time thrashing the Lamborghini Performante in the process.
