A perfect example of the extent of self entitlement and Chav culture of certain drivers which favour a particular brand really has no limits.

Bet Yonex can't wait for his shiny new pcpd diesel to arrive. biggrin:
The great irony here is that the single loudest voice speaking out against chav culture displays absolutely zero class whatsoever !

Well, as I am going to order it, and it’s my choice. Why wouldn’t I be looking forward to it? TBH I think I’m quite fortunate to have the opportunity for a brand new subsidised car and the various other toys in the garage, should I not be? Its amusing that you keep digging, the mere fact you keep trying to bring up wealth, and run down others, marks you out as a deeply insecure individual. Do you brag generally about wealth, or just to strangers on the internet rofl

So yes, I’m looking forward to my new car.

Awful plate on that Porsche. Does anyone know what it's supposed to mean?
I guess that's a 'no' then. Makes you wonder why people bother.

I just enjoyed my chavmobile on some empty, dry roads, lovely cool and crisp evening so it felt really quite healthy, not that it doesnt normally but that extra bit of sharpness, it gives lovely wiggle as you get on the power and then howls freely round to the redline, gaining speed at a rate not that dissimilar to a 911 turbo from not all that long ago (its no longer standard). Then slow down a bit to let it cool down before we get home. I got an old fridge in it to go to the tip earlier, I dropped my wife and two mates off for a birthday meal, it will do 45 mpg if you are gentle, the ride is pretty good, the brakes are epic, the auto box is as good as I have tried and it fits in a normal parking space.

But of course, cant really enjoy them as cars, purely a status symbol for us vain and shallow folk, one pay packet away from financial oblivion.

I don't get the whole snobbery with leasing .... surely if anyone can get themselves into a nice shiny new car by shelling out a monthly amount they can afford then fair play to them. End of subject for me! So what's wrong with it? What am I missing that makes it such a crime on here?

I'm with you - if you can afford the monthly payments, great. If you can't, don't bother. I think some snobbery comes from the fact that PHer "A" might have bought a Golf R, say, for cash. PHer "B" has leased the same car. PHer "A" then believes that "B" somehow does not deserve the car, or has not worked hard enough for it.

I don't care how somebody pays for a car (as long as it's not through ill gotten gains), as long as they enjoy it, surely that's all that matters?

Well, you get those who have enough cash to buy outright getting a bit sniffy sometimes, also, those who perhaps dont have the means to lease tend to struggle with the idea that other people do and assume that £300 plus a month cannot possibly be affordable or sensible. Then some enthusiasts cant get their head round the fact that normal non PH folk might love a 320D and pay handsomely to drive it.

I think we need to assume people are grown ups, can make their own decisions and need to consider the consequences like with every financial decision.

I personally dont lease/PCP but I dont rule it out as an option, so many pros and cons and it needs to fit your own personal situation, there is no absolute right or wrong answer.

Without these financial options, there wouldn't be many cars sold, not many of us have that much cash spare and sometimes, life is too short to save up.

I had to get made redundant to buy my chavmobile.

This experience mirrors mine yesterday evenin. After spending a good 30 minutes on the drive polishing the BMW badges on my car and making sure all the neighbours could see what an impressive specimen of German Engineering I had, I decided to get in and take a spin to the local Driving Range. A34 was blocked so I took the back roads and had a perfect drive for around 5pm. Little traffic on the road I was using so I could enjoy the way it dug in round corners and flew out the other side, feeling the occasional twitch from the back end as the electronics woke up and extending one of the finest powerplants in modern motoring. All the time in perfect comfort with a boot full of golf bats.

Interestingly, we do have a problem neighbour, always with music blaring, st parking and generally being anti-social. He has a 911 Turbo.

yes

It's just odd, why anyone would concern themselves with how people fund their cars? If it works for the individual then go for it, the worst of this are the purile comments thrown by the usual suspects trying to make out that anyone who goes down this path is a chav, poor, etc, etc. Going full circle, they're just a decent thing to drive in their sector. I am not sure what else matters?

Because the Porsche spokesman on here seems to want to present what he deems as "chav plates" on BMWs as further evidence that chavs drive BMWs ergo BMW owners are all chavs.

He seems to be convenient forgetting though that he said on another thread that Porsches were just as likely as other brands to "suffer" from chav plates, but that seems to be ok?

So in summary, according to him - anyone who owns a BMW is a chav (except him apparently, as i think he forgot he has an M3) and even though people put chav plates on Porsches, that doesnt mean Porsches are ever driven by chavs. Because again he drives Porsches. Apparently. rolleyes
Yeah, thats what it is. rolleyes

So go on then - tell us why trolling threads with nonsense about chavs and chav plates is so important to you, given you have more than enough porsches outside your door these things really not to need to bother you?

Exactly, my income is all over the place so I probably couldn't get a lease as some months I earn very little, others a lot more... it's the nature of what I do and being self employed, but I think good luck to anyone who can.
