Looks like successful people can afford to buy nice cars like Porsche’s, BMWs et al.

Now these cars are more widely available to less successful but aspirational people by easy credit of various types.

Some of these less successful people are still a bit rough around the edges and still do some Chavy things like Park inconsideratly or use dodgy number plates.

There are though some normal people who also have these now aspirational cars who are not Chavs at all and just enjoy owning or renting a nice car.

The normal people are bring all bunched together as part of the chav brigade are rightly a little upset.

Something like that I think with the odd fwd v rwd debate thrown in.

Absolutely no justification for it, ever, in my opinion.
Absolutely never, only a total scum bag would do that.

Not only that but taking Porsche fininance is one of several boxes to be ticked in order to become a preferred customer.

Not really.

Which Porsche dealer are you referring to which led to you having this assumption?

Serious question btw.

A minor point - BMW are nowhere near as aspirational as they used to be. Top models from other brands command considerably more respect, which is why BMW is currently launching re-designed, more upmarket luxury cars. Because M cars were considered quite aspirational 10 years ago does not mean the whole brand is, and it doesn't mean any M cars are now.

Three different dealers have said the same to me - exact language “ you would be looked on more favourably”.

Off topic but it’s on ground dangerously close to anti-competitive behaviour.

I was summarising thread and not offering an opinion.

A big part of the thread was re BMW being an aspirational brand in general ?

On what type of vehicle?

Never been my experience and I deal with several different franchises and some Porsche owned OPCs too.

Good luck with the nigh on anti competitive behaviour claim though!

I’ve no intention of making a claim, just pointing out that it’s a pretty shady practice.

Different vehicles, Macan, 911 Turbo and most recently a 911T.

Interesting.

If you think Porsche are shady, try dealing with Ferrari.
