I'm thinking that is maybe not the lightest track car on consumables? (pun intended)

SUPERB!!! I'm damn near tempted to fly over from Dublin for this top, top shed! Got to be one of the best sheds here in a long time: how could you not be tempted for the price? Ahh man - cannot believe something like that is a bag of sand now, fantastic!!

Pretty sure that's the one that was up for sale about 6 years ago and I very nearly bought it!

This is my mates race version , I love these things , he is hiding away XJRs as he finds them if the condition and price is right . He has 5 and is homing in on number 6 .
Is that his XK in the background?

Must be absolutely hilarious to drive though. Just bring your own fuel bowser.

My Jag specialist runs one almost just like this week's shed but his has primrose seat facings. It's a well-fettled beast. A grand seems decent value but the bork factor is high.

God what a great shed. Absolutely love that.

I drove a later Sport. Was expecting general ancientness, wallowy handling and vagueness but it was a surprisingly good, crisp steer.

And the interior was to die for.

Great shed!

The XK is one of his customers cars , he is a restoration specialist . The blue nose on the left is his Holden Commodore race car .
Lots of cars in his workshops to drool over from the 30s to the 90s and occasionally some modern very quick machinery .

I found the ad earlier and almost gave the chap a ring before remembering I really need to sell two other cars and get a bike MoT'd. These X300 XJRs aren't going to be this price much longer....

It’s the brochure colour. Like Arena Red on the 993 Turbo and Dakar yellow on the E36 M3, the people who make the brochures spend a long time working out what the most photogenic colour is for a car. I hope whoever buys this appreciates it for what it is and doesn’t run it into the ground.

hehe And a fire extinguisher for those brakes.

I'm not really that into racing for myself, much prefer to watch it, but there's just something about the photo of that turquoise track-prepped XJR up-thread that makes me want to find somewhere with reasonably forgiving run-off areas and just stomp the accelerator pedal through the floor.

How bad can the rot be on these?

I’m really tempted by one of these, even the non R variants. I’d imagine £3k would get a nice example.
