Firstly it's my icon! But I will agree the tr is a better looking car but the M has a better handling car and therefore the one to have in terms of actually driving the thing.
Might be wrong but, styling details apart, I believe the main difference between the F512M and the 512TR was the late (for the TR range) adoption of power steering. The 'M' may have had a few more BHP too.
