JLR on 3 day week
Discussion
My mate did a stint at Halewood. The new Evoques were pissing water in when built/parked up outside. All had to be called back prior to delivery and the bodge was to fill the gaps with black sealer from behind the dash
I wouldn't entertain any JLR product. Shame, but way too expensive for what they are.

The brexit scapegoat is getting old. The reason sales for JLR are falling are due to the growing perception of poor reliability and build quality among customers.
That build quality scapegoat is even older than the Brexit - dates back to long before British Leyland."A gentleman does not motor about after dark!"

What's the problem? Looks OK from here.
Looks awful, great big air gap under the rear sill. Like you could fit an immigrant or two under there. Get an SUV if you want your arse end to look like that.Anyway, three day week, does that mean the factory will be producing Wednesday afternoon cars now instead of Friday ones?

Funny how you think things like that don't happen at other car manufactures.I wouldn't entertain any JLR product. Shame, but way too expensive for what they are.

This thread has me in bits.... Find a leak on launch, pull the cars back and plug the leak... And that’s an example of them being crap... LOLSome of the recalls around the industry recently (accelerator pedals, airbags etc)....But someone’s mate saw a RangeRover on a low loader so they are worse etc etc....

It is weird, I barely see any new XF's on the road, I must have seen only a few in years. The old XF on the other hand....it just seemed to grab peoples attention something far from doing it the 2nd generation has.
The XE well I looked at one and walked away in under 5 minutes. That killed that stone dead.
Flipside not building an SUV there is killing it as well. They are only building models which are not as in demand.
See a few XFs about and that is about it. I only really see XE's because of where I work (not JLR, but a test house), I don't see any on the road. See quite a few F-Paces and F-Types mind. But then, no E-Paces.... not surprising, its far too small, despite outwardly appearing like a bloater of an SUV crossover thingy. The XE well I looked at one and walked away in under 5 minutes. They have the E-Pace though and the market is moving from estates to SUVs.
The I-Pace is well ahead of their competition as well.
E-Pace and I-Pace both built in Graz, AustriaThe I-Pace is well ahead of their competition as well.
There is a new Land Rover plant in Slovakia, as well as others around the world serving local markets.
Castle Bromwich is on a 3 day week.
Deduce from those statements what you will....
1 makes anonymous looking saloons with diesel engines that no one wants anymore.

A lot of it down to their reliance on diesel engines in their cars. The diesel new car market is down over 30% year to date and JLR sales are worse than that. They are making cars no one wants to buy at the moment basically.
Can I ask your source, I've seen other articles stating the market is relatively flat for diesels so would be interested in seeing your articleEdit- no need, I searched and there are loads of articles about it, I'm genuinely shocked they dropped so much year on year

Story - JLR are turning down production of Jaguar saloon/estate cars.
PH gurus - it’s because Land Rover sell too many diesels, they haven’t replaced the Defender yet and my mate’s Mrs who wants to be Victoria Beckham has a very unreliable Evoque.
Top stuff as ever

Agreed, I think the facelift XF is a handsome car.
Outside maybe but inside its a time warp compared to the 5 series and the V90/S90Which I know because I had a 5 Touring and an XF Sportbrake on 24h tests over the summer
The XF was released to me with its fuel light on which felt to me like the dealer CBA but the condemnation I got on here made me feel like a tightwad instead #Yorkshire
After putting fuel in it and spending 2h on the motorway it wasnt to my taste, cheap as chips mind you but I didnt get on with the seat squab (abysmal adjustment) and the infotainment and general inside vibe was miles from where BMW, MB and Volvo are currently at
So no surprise here that theyre struggling for sales - crap dealers and dated product
Cheers
