Next Goodwood Breakfast Club on 7 Oct is themed "Japanese Sunday" - should be some interesting JDM etc metal
https://www.goodwood.com/sports/motorsport/breakfa... Entry is free but I believe you're now expected to register in advance.

I think you're right but that's what I meant/explained poorly...The best version of the k20 but in the cl7, preferably mine!
HahaI'm not entirely sure myself tbh just assumed it would be the same 6 speed with LSD as the Accord. I imagine there are a few small changes.millen said:

Yeh this should be a good one. Got my stand pass printed out ready. Going to be heading over from Portsmouth at about 6am if anyone fancies a convoy?https://www.goodwood.com/sports/motorsport/breakfa... Entry is free but I believe you're now expected to register in advance.
Was cancelled last year due to the flooded fields so I'm really looking forward to it this year.
ALSO, there is very similar event this Sunday at Wilton House (near Salisbury) called The Wilton Wake Up – Banzai Edition (This week is Japanese cars). I'm going to be heading up from Portsmouth on Sunday morning with a few other guys if anyone else would like to join.

Same day as the Bicester Scramble, unfortunately...https://www.goodwood.com/sports/motorsport/breakfa... Entry is free but I believe you're now expected to register in advance.
Register - yep, that's what they say. That doesn't guarantee you a spot in the circuit though, as if the guys on the gate decide your car doesn't suit, or they've got enough of 'your car', or they're just not paying attention, then you get diverted out to the main car park. Especially frustrating if you've just driven for 2.5 hours to get there. I went on Supercar Sunday and got diverted out because "we've already got a couple of them". Parked next to a CLK Black and near a 308 GT4 in the main car-park (!), yet saw a number of Elises and a few fast fords (Escort Mk2, Escort Cossie, Focus RS) among other certainly-not-super cars parked around the circuit when I (finally) got in, so you do take pot-luck regardless of the so-called theme...
You also have to put up with the senior Goodwood guys fawning over anyone with a hypercar or multi-million classic...
I’ve had it for 7 years and until a couple of years ago it just had basic intake and exhaust work.
I decided to commit to some big mods to turn it into the dream JDM car after filling my head with Best Motoring and Hot Version!! The highlights include:
Mugen 2.2 internals (bore and stroke increase, basically what Mugen offered on some of their FN2s over here)
Various other internal changes as well as intake and exhaust work to capitalise on the extra capacity.
J’s Racing front bumper and rear wing
Rays Te37’s running 245 wide Cup 2s
Pole Positions along with a light weight steering wheel.
Ohlins and stiffer anti roll bars
Race pads and discs with stock sizes
It makes 280hp at 9200rpm and weighs 50kgs less than stock with the changes made.

I'd suggest you're gilding the lily a little bit.
It's very good, but the DC2 and the two Renaults you mention have more 'engagement' with the driver, and more feelsome controls (albeit the Renaults don't have such well-matched control weights, nor as good a driving position).
- On-track the FD2 is exceptional for a fwd car, and the long wheelbase permits a loose-ish rear end that won't scare most drivers.
- On-road the FD2 is a little TOO stiff (even on ASTs, which i've ditched as they're unsealed and a nightmare, or on stock with Koni Yellow rear dampers, which is the favoured solution for UK roads). Down some of my favourite twisty B-roads - roads the DC2 would demolish without breaking sweat and engage you every step of the way, making you feel an utter hero - the FD2 can occasionally feel too stiff and run out of suspension travel long before you reach the steady-state grip limits of the car. So I find myself driving it at ~8 or 9/10ths...which to be fair is potentially / arguably still too quick for a public road.
Still VERY good...but for fast-road use the damping lacks that last 1/10th that marks out truly exceptional cars like the DC2 and Trophy.
For a daily-driver the FD2 is an amazing compromise. For a fwd weekend / track car I'd still go back to a DC2 (had 2 across 9 years and 90k miles - only sold #2 when we started a family! ) and tolerate the comparatively-weak engine.
Edit: BUG4LIFE - Yes they do have ISOFIX. Strict 4-seater though, no centre-belt.
The DC2 is as engaging - more organic/natural than the FD2, but the R26R is nowhere near as engaging as either of the Hondas. Yes the FD is by no means the ultimate drivers’s car from a holistic perspective, but it is the last FF car to be made with a proper engine and it was also the fastest in its day.
It’s taken the best part of 10 years for Honda to truly make a car that out performs the FD2. (the Fk2 was a bit poor...)
I bought the car with ASTs and even after having them rebuilt twice, the bushes lasted 5 seconds and the car was vague on them.
The ohlins offer exceptional damping and compliance on road but they Don’t have the spring rate to cope with my mods and current day tyres.
I ended up with mine having not being able to find a good DC5 facelift at the time, but I’m glad I bought the faster car that is better suited to all the track work I Do. I only really use it on track now as my daily is more refined and fun on the road,
If I had the pick of the lineup now i’d Take the EK9 for road driving but i’m sure my car is more fun and rewarding on circuit-It’s setup to be a handful!

Looks like you have a C63 as well. Both no doubt very different but which do you enjoy more? I need a new family car soon and both are on the list...It’s taken the best part of 10 years for Honda to truly make a car that out performs the FD2. (the Fk2 was a bit poor...)

Unless freshly imported, these tend to be rustbuckets. Massively overpriced rustbuckets that are not very quick.
That 2.2 280bhp one looks great fun though.
When you say 'not very quick' do you mean in a straight line? Because most modern turbo things will probably beat it in a straight line. I can only assume either you've never driven on on a track or on twisty b roads, or you don't have much driving talent. You know in 2007, Evo magazine placed it 6th in their Car Of The Year awards, beating a Lamborghini Superleggera? If I recall, it also beat a 370z, Evo X and an Elise in a track battle on YouTube somewhere. I think they did 2 races and it finished 3rd and then 1st. That 2.2 280bhp one looks great fun though.
Just for reference, I've come from a 340BHP Impreza STI Widetrack, which is a fantastic car, but the FD2 feels more exciting.
