With the time of year fast approaching that allows you to justify buying a whole new car to tackle the brutal winters we get here in the UK, feel free to show it off to you fellow PHers here.

Here’s my beast as a starter for ten...

I had the idea to buy one of those womens' hatchbacks with the folding metal roofs for a winter wagon.

I'm not a homosexual you know.

I just bought the wife a Mercedes SL for the winter .... we're off on a couple of tours and she doesn't fancy driving one of our more exotic (for exotic read Italian = might exhibit certain Latin behaviours) classics.

Mine, not 4x4 but on winterish tyres. Probably would get stuck before the OPs but it's not been stuck yet. Only done 27 k miles.

This was bought to haul the dog and other stuff about rather than as a winter car specifically. However, with winter tyres on a spare set of wheels it has so far proven to be superb winter transport. Totally reliable and gets through the weather even on the steep hills where we are.

My winter car is also my spring, summer and autumn car. But it is a Discovery 4 on winter tyres. Perfect for the south coast.

Wow! Not seen one of those for years. I grew up with my folks having espaces for about 20 years. We had a MK1, 2 and 3

F150 and Grand Cherokee , Western Canada , not a winter tire in sight

Purchased when I was driving around in RWD luxo barges. Daily driver is now a Discovery 4 so really surplus to requirements. The tyres are studdable and I have a bag of studs. So if we are suddenly plunged into a Scandinavian winter I am quids in.

I like your style. Lowered Mk3 MX-5 worked well enough for me. LSD is surely the obvious winter accessory?
