Range Rover Hybrid - Major Problem

OP . Same thing happened to my Ex wife in a new P400e Sport a few months ago , had her young son and dog in the vehicle going from Bristol to Yorkshire , Sudden loss of power around Birmingham on the Motorway , JLR employee even pulled to behind to assist the recovery and was very apologetic ,Seem to remember she said a software fault where it thinks it had no fuel when it had plenty ,
In my experience of owning three different LR models, we have only ever had one problem which was a software problem with the Evoque.
LR came out, updated the software and all sorted.
On the other hand, last year driving through the centre of Lyon, my TVR Tuscan packed up.
Turned out to be a faulty Alternator.............a Land Rover part.

It always amazes me how people who can't string a decent post together can actually afford cars that cost the same as a small house in Yorkshire.
What actually happened OP and what is this mystery fault LR knew all about that you should really be sharing with us?

Anyway, OP when you say "looses" power do you mean it completely died with everything off or did it go into limp mode like it's designed so as to avoid further damage?
Problem is these days cars like range rovers etc are hugely complex mainly due to consumer driven demand for all the luxuries, inevitably a percentage will have problems no matter what Quality control is in place.

Some of the wealthiest people I've met had some of the oldest, least fashionable vehicles - clothes, too. Maybe financial prudence is how they remain wealthy.Smiljan said:

Quite often the flashest cars are owned by people who still live in their room at mum and dad's house. They can afford a flash car because they don't have mortgage/rent to pay.so called said:

Since when did LR start making alternators? I think you'll find it's a Bosch or Valeo or something which LR may well fit to some of their cars.LR came out, updated the software and all sorted.

Buying a Range Rover as a family car is like putting your family in danger when using it for long drives.
If it breaks down halfway on your journey don't be surprised. In fact, always have a backup plan.
Paying over £10k for such junk let alone £100k is another question for another time.

I bet every car maker is sitting on a few ‘updates’ that need to be applied at the next service.
Unless it’s some full-on safety critical issue, they will try to style it out rather than issuing a recall.
When I’ve done some research on possible purchases ive often been surprised at what some very prestigious names have managed to conjure up in terms of crap customer experiences.
