Good enough is, well, good enough. Even if it doesn't dominate the road or the stairs.

How many owners will drive 1000 miles across Europe anyway? Driving to school isn't quite as arduous.

I suspect not many will be doing school runs, from what i see of X6's, they will be bought mainly by men.

I like it in that colour, I think it's a nice looking SUV if you spec the colour to blend the grille in rather than having it stand out against orange as in some of the pictures.

Too much hate on PH these days, not ribbing or mild dislike but pretty aggressive hate towards a car and anyone who would drive it, it's a bit odd and it's just about every new German SUV that costs a few bob including S/AMG/M versions that attracts their bile laden posts.

Weird to think that you'd living amongst people that hate you for your cars existence....but I'd wager the vast majority wouldn't even notice and it's confined to just a few maladjusted weirdos on the internet.

Great post.

I heard this on the radio earlier. What a ridiculous selling point.
Ridiculous? Sounds like Audi's marketing bods have nailed the mentality of the SUV owning demographic.

Dont you feel like we move from hating one thing to the next?

We are all supposed to hate BMW drivers, and we all follow.

Then its Audi drivers, and again, we all follow.

Now its SUV drivers....should we follow?

So if you choose the colour to deliberately hide one of the most deliberate and distinctive styling features, it looks OK?

If ever the phrase "damning with faint praise" was apposite...

I saw a Q8 on the motorway the other day. I thought it looked fantastic
Same here, as an ex-Q7 owner I understand the appeal and am massively biased though admittedly.

It's pathetic. As said on one of the many repetitive big whiney cry baby anti SUV threads, if someone chooses to drive around in an overland motorhome based on a UniMog chassis, as long as it's legal, driven safely and it ain't chewing up your front lawn it's nobody else's business.

Because they are s.

Why else would they drive such an overly large and inappropriate vehicle ? Only someone who was that completely self interested would consider buying something that anti social, someone who doesn’t give a st about who they crash into, drive on or run over will not give a damn about the environment either.

Like I said, s, the lot of them. Particularly those in black with black wheels and blacked out windows, wannabe drug dealers.

Because they buy an overweight car with poor aerodynamics which will use more fuel than comparably sized vehicles built on a saloon platform.

Which saloon based car would you use on a farm, or take on a shoot, or a point to point, or turn up at the local pay and play quarry ?

A Fiat Panda 4x4. And I’m serious. Old square version ideally. Newer one fine.

No matter how much I try, I just can’t see someone using a brand new sparkling Q8 to tow a plough or move injured sheep around on a farm. Where I’m from most seem to favour a functional trusty Defender ? Or perhaps a Duster ? Funny thread!
